Theme park parking before checking in?

We'd like to go directly to the parks before checking in on our first day (long story). Is free parking at the theme parks one of our DVC perks? I thought it was, but can't find it. If not, would we have to pay to park if we haven't checked in yet, or is there a way to get that reimbursed somehow after we check in?

Free theme park parking is not a DVC perk. It is a perk of being an onsite guest, or an Annual Pass Holder. Showing your reservation confirmation may get you into the parking area for free, but to be safe, I would check-in first.

No, it's a perk of on-site reservations. If you have your reservation sheet, you should be able to get free parking the day of check in, but I have always checked in first and then gone to the parks. If, by chance, you have an AP, you would get free parking with that regardless.

OOPS! Looks like I was posting about the same time as Chuck. Sorry for the duplicate info.

Thank you to both of you. :)

Our plan was to upgrade a ticket we already have to APs at the park that day, and we're actually staying with an AP rate that weekend, so we need the pass before checking in. (Confusing enough?) I think we'll try to use the confirmation for free parking, and if that doesn't work I'd rather pay for parking than make an extra stop at DTD since it's just a quick weekend trip that time.

If they make you pay for parking, check with guest services when you get the AP to see if they will credit/refund the parking fee.

If you are getting the AP, just bring your parking ticket to the window and they can credit you that amount toward the AP. You don't need to go to Guest RElations first, they can do it at any ticket window.

I don't even think you need to worry about showing them your ap when you check in. Last time I used an AP discount, they never even asked for it at check in.
