On the down side, the "free" dining has forced Disney to cheapen the quality of their food and driven the walk up prices too high IMHO.

The quality of food at Disney has gone way down since they started these dining plans.

We're doing the dining plan in a couple of days and hitting the last of the restaurants we want to eat at. I agree that the quality has gone down hill mostly because of the plan - they do it free only during hurricane season for th emost part. we ate at garden grill in November and the food was not too good, but we wanted to get pictures with Mickey so it was worth it - also at 9 Dragons which was just OK. We ate at Universal a couple of times and the food was very good.

We're eating at RaglanRoan & Flying Fish this time around and I'm very interested in both of them.

I am not camper, I have just recently been coming to this board becasue we will be at the cabins in July...but,as far as the fees at the Fort....I always wondered why some would pay as much for an empty lot as they would for a hotel room. Where they have to provide the roof over their head, the bed, etc. I thought the cost was ALOT for just a campsite. But I totally understand why DIsney does this. The Fort was put there at the beginning on what seemed like an out of the way area at the time. With the growth of the World, the site is now pretty central prime A1 real estate. If they didn't make money of the land from campers, I'm sure that the Fort would be either relocated to an extremely undesirable area or done away with all together to put up another deluxe huge resort that would have hundreds and hundreds of rooms all bringing in $250 - $300 a night average. That land is prime for Disney and I'm pretty shocked that they haven't already given into the temptation and done this. The high site fees arn't so much for what you are getting, as WHERE you are getting it. There is no other camp site in the world that offers WDW a boat ride away.

Yeah, I sure don't know why Disney lets us low life campers in a prime area either. With such a prime area they surely could build another themed hotel so the upper crust could lay around and catch raindrops in their upturned noses. I believe that the new pool area should be fenced off and admission charged so that the us low lifes in the crappy campers couldn't afford to dirty the pool. Actully I believe that Disney is just using the campers to hold on to the area until a plan is devised to upscale the area and improve the rspecability of the place.

We thought the same thing this time. We ate at two places, The Beirgarden and Wolfgang's. We were a group of 6 so we stuck paying 18% tip even for bad service. I hated that. And at Wolfgangs at 6pm there were tables filled with dirty dishes. The food was just as good as "wedding food". And the cost!!!!!!! The service was not as good. I saw service staff rushing to get "deserts" out of the DDP guest and then they barely eat them. More steps to take and less servers. We had a better meal at the Crab Shack up the road and on the BBQ at the cabin. So sad.
