Theme park app.. Which one?

I'm getting myself organised for our upcoming trip to America from Australia! and I want an app for WDW and also disneyland.. Which ones are best, for wait times, maps and generally getting excited for planning? TIA.

I used to use a couple apps like WDW waits or something like that. But found it to be pointless. Only apps I use for the park are MDE and the Weather Channel

I have one called Disneyworld Magic Guide that I really like. It has really good maps for the 4 major parks, wait times, park hours for all parks, and dining menus for all parks and resorts and Disney Springs. And it doesn't have to be connected to the Internet for anything except the wait times, which is nice. I think it was $3.99 for the WDW version, and they have ones for Disneyland and Universal as well.

Aside from planning apps, I also love the Reedy Creek app! It plays music and sounds from the parks!

These are the ones I use as well. The MDE app is actually really good to use for maps. It shows you where you are and you an see how to get to where you're going. It's handy. I find the wait times are better with the touring plans app though.

Agree you should definitely use the official MDE app. Maps are good, but you really want it for FP+ and ADRs as well. Ride times were usually good but often way off or confused (on one Epcot day it was also displaying HS ride waits, on one MK day it was listing every ride as "closed").

Note that we found on a recent trip that MDE can be a battery hog because it is constantly accessing GPS (using iPhone4S). We brought an external battery charger with us, and topped off our phones on our longer park days.

I highly recommend touring plans. Really helps you find out how long things take and you can get the most out of your trip. Worth every bit of the $10 i spent, plus i hear their wait times on the Lines app is more accurate.
