Does anyone know if there's a theme for 2009 after the Year of a Million Dreams? Just curious.... thanks!!!

They will probably just change it to "The Decade of 4 Million Dreams", and let this keep going...

I work in the media and will be broadcasting from the park in the fall. I was told by the media relations department it will be "What are you celebrating"

I'm pretty sure I'm usually celebrating something when I'm there! Even if it is just being "home" again!:wizard:

I heard the same thing from some one else. It seems like a poor excuse for nothing else.
The dream squad is going away, and I can just see how guest are not going to be quite as perky and happy when they no longer can get dream fastpasses or lanyards. And it's easy to do something special for some one when you have dream squad to help you out because they have the power to do things that most of my managers would look at me like I'm nuts for trying to do. I'll miss them.

I certainly don't go to Disney to spend all my time hoping and looking for dream fastpasses or lanyards. It was a nice gimmick while they have been doing it, but I don't think people were going only on the premise of trying to find the Dream Squad and get something for free. If guests are not as perky and happy to be there without the chance of receiving a dream, then they should just stay home and play the lotto, probably the same odds as receiving a dream. Also, if you read the above posts, people are making fun of Disney continuing the Year of a Million Dreams, so they can't win either way!

Disney World is magical no matter what.... the idea of winning a dream is fun, but nothing can make the magic less fantastic... never

I agree, our first trip this past summer, made me love all things Disney even more!

Putting my flame suit on, but I think the theme for 2009 is lame. It reminds me of a theme that the Ringling Bros. Circus would have thought of.
Really, do you need a theme every year? This is Disney for Pete's Sake. Just be happy your there

I briefly read an article online at Orlandosentinel.com today. They are giving free admission on bdays.

I kind of agree. It puts limits on people who can participate in it. Not eveyone can come on a birthday or anniversary. It's not as universal as the year of a million dreams--everyone had a chance to get a dream.

But, I do like the fact they do have themes. It makes it more exciting. And I'm sure it is very profitable for Disney...cuz you know people have to but the special Mickey ears and all the other souvenirs.

This is now posted on the main board, Disney is giving free admission on your bday and if you already bought multi-day passes, you can select another "gift".
They have special gift cards for the value of a one day pass!!!:cool1:
