The younger sniper suspect tries to escape

Remember that quote the sniper had the police read on TV... "we've caught the sniper like a duck in a noose" or something like that. Well I heard later that it's part of an old Indian story where the duck gets away. So I guess they've been planning to escape all along..... and I'm sure it's not the last attempt. :( :( :( :(

I sure hope these guys don't get off on insanity plea ... even though that is the ONLY explanation I can come up with.

An insanity defense is really NOT a viable option for them. In order for "insanity" to be a proper defense, the accused must not be able to dtermine right from wrong. CLEARLY, they knew what they were doing was wrong - they hid from authorities, they "waited" until a white van passed by and then they shot - leading us on for weeks in false directions, they asked for money, and the list will go on.

The best they could possibly hope for is life imprisonment without parole (but they WON'T be safe in the general pop. I'd give them a week). They would actually be safer on death row (isolated from the general pop), but even there they could be hit.

I hope that Maryland turns them over to Virginia because MD won't give the needle to Malvo. VA will gladly take over that "chore" for both of them.

When was this, Dan? I know they reported the night they were arrested that Malva slipped out of the handcuffs, apparently his wrists were skinny enough to do so. He was apprehended within minutes and apparently they found handcuffs that would fit his wrists.
Here is the news item, Snoop, it was Thurs.

Authorities confirmed that Malvo tried to escape while being questioned in Montgomery County on Thursday. Left alone, handcuffed to the leg of a table in an interrogation room, Malvo broke the table and tried to climb through the ceiling.
“He was halfway out when an ATF agent pulled him back in,” a source said.
