Nova: Nova held her breath as she dialed Jeff's number. She'd earlier deleted it in case someone's parents snatched her phone and started searching it like they would do.
Jeff: Jeff was at home when the phone rang. He looked at the number and wondered why Nova was calling him.
Nova: Jeff picked up. She said, "It's me."
Jeff: Jeff was relieved. He said, "Hi Nova."
Nova: "I wanted to call you to ask how the interrogation went. I hope they weren't too hard on you, you know. Our foster parents can get a little crazy, but I'm sure that it's just out of undying love for their kids."
Jeff: "Enough with the foster kid story. I know, Nova."
Nova: Nova's next instinct was to hang up but she didn't. "Jeff, I can-"
Jeff: "You can't explain. And they told me that I can't be in contact with Laura, Thora, or whoever I thought she was isn't."
Nova: "Don't be mad. Thora's really upset about not being able to see you, um, enough that she's convinced herself that you don't love her."
Jeff: "She's really nice. Nova, I want you to keep this a secret, just between the two of us."
Nova: "She loves you. She's convinced herself that it's true love. And she wanted me to break the rules, call you-"
Jeff: "And that's nice. She's definitely a really beautiful person. She's amazing, but I don't know her well enough yet-"
Nova: "You don't love her, Jeff."
