The beginning of day 2 is here. http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=722894.
We get in the cue to wait for a cast member. It's only 10:40 a.m. and I'm feeling optimistic. If this goes quickly, we can be at Magic Kingdom by 11:30.
It's my turn and I immediately apologize and say "I am sorry. I need to apologize in advance because I'm afraid I'm going to be a "problem client." I was not being mean or rude - I apologized in advanced and stayed very calm. I explained everything that had happened and used the client file number that I had been given from Guest Services so that the CM could read all of the documentation loaded into the system thus far. I explained that as of that minute, no money had been credited so I had no way to pay for my room. Since I only owed $330 on my room and Disney had $1,550 of my money, I asked if maybe I could speak to a manager so that we could get a line of credit on the room to buy food and anything else we need. I put it all out on the counter and waited to see what the response would be. My heart was pounding - I had no idea what would happen.
The CM read everything and then called over someone else to discuss it with her. Still waiting. More reading of the computer. CM disappears into the back. She reappears along with an additional CM. Still waiting. Still no manager. Heart pounding, blood pressure...oh I don't know. 400/200.
The kids walked over to see what was taking so long. I tell them "Everything's fine. Why don't you go back & watch Tv?" My 13 y.o. picks up on the vibe and knows something is wrong. She keeps asking what's wrong to which I keep replying "Nothing. Go watch TV." She eventually walks away but mutters "I know something's wrong." Still waiting.
11AM - I send the DH with the kids on a walk around the resort. Now we have typing into the computer and looks like keys are being printed. This is a good sign. How about some verbal communication? You are KILLING me!!! I ask if we'll be able to stay and she says Yes. We were assigned somewhere but those rooms weren't ready yet so she was moving us into rooms that were ready. We have connecting & non smoking rooms in the Dalmations section (all of our requests) and ready now so we can change. YAY!!!!
I ask about the credit on the room key for purchases. She disappears again to find a manager. Still none to be found. Are they hiding from me?
She starts making calls - she calls ticket services and is told that the credit has been put in and the money should be in our account today or tomorrow. That's great but what about speaking to a manager about the credit on the key. The CM finally tells me that yes, we can have a $500 credit on the key for charging and asks me for my VISA but PROMISES me that NOTHING will be charged on it until Saturday (4 days from checkin day) unless I go over the $500 limit. The room charges WILL definitely NOT BE CHARGED until Saturday. We are all set and it's only.....11:20 a.m. 40 minutes to checkin?! Are you kidding me? I ask the CM which park we should go to since the day is half over. She recommends Animal Kingdom because the locals are in school and the park is open late tonight. She says it won't be crowded so we take her advice and decide that's where we are going. We set out for the rooms happy and ready to start our vacation. As long as we are careful with our spending, all will be fine. Little did I know....
