Good morning, lovelies!! Rain expected here today and for the rest of the week as well. :( At least we won't have to shovel it!! Ended up taking boy-genius boss to the airport last night--his ride didn't show up! Hey, I'm just glad to have 2 days all to myself! I have a book I've been wanting to read since before Christmas and I'm going to read it!! And yeah.....I'll answer the phone if it rings!

Lily, so sorry to hear Vegas was not such a happy place for you this trip. I can't stand seat kickers either!!

Kristy, I fell in love with the little yellow guy too!!! I don't dare ask for him though because I've made a big deal for years out of the fact that I can't stand ducks! It would ruin my image! How's Hamlet?!!

Sherry, sorry to hear DS is still barking and you had to keep him home again. Hope he gets to feeling better soon! Weather isn't helping much, is it?!!

Rose Mary has rain too?! Ya know, a day like today is good for stayin' in our jammies, sipping cocoa and watching girlie flicks. I think we need a slumber party!!!

Elaine, how's that added responsibility going? Is is a lot of work? Hope it's not too bad for ya!

Nancy and Pam both got their baskets!!! Sooooooo sweet!! You guys really raked it in, didn't ya??!!! Sounds yummy and fun!! Anybody besides me still waiting?? I'm trying to be patient, but my candy meter has been on empty for days and days.........

   and :love2: :love2: :love2: all around!

Beth...you are the last waiting for your basket.
Isn't anticipation great? ;) Hopefully you will have it by the end of the week.

Slumber party!! I'm there!! We went all rainy and icky today too :(

Sherry, hope DS gets rid of that cough soon. Poor guy :(

Good morning everyone!!

Any one heard from Todd?

Hi ya'll!! I didn't post yet about my dinner. I was so busy yesterday...it didn't happen.

We met at Olive Garden and had a great turn out. All of our management cms came and 7 of our regular cms. I behaved myself and only ate 1/2 of a bread stick :D and then I had salad and the Canelloni al forno!! yum!! My manager bought my dinner. I had a nice low carb dinner and my blood sugar stayed low.

When they pulled out the gifts I almost fell over, I couldn't believe how generous they were. I got so many cute outfits all in different sizes so I have them not just for right after he is born but for the coming months!! They also gave me some new rattles and baby toys so that Ethan doesn't have to have the ABC toys (you know the Already Been Chewed ones!! hehe) They also gave me a bag with wipes, shampoo, nail kit, and anitbacteria gel! Those are things you can never have too many of!!

Then when the cake came out the manager (my tds manager) was upset because the cake didn't come out the way she ordered it. She got it from Farm Fresh and they didn't do the colors right. Instead of baby blue and baby pink they had dark blue and dark red (think 4th of July). Then the topper was the fact that instead of saying "Congratulations Tara" it said "Congradulations Tara" So she was upset that, I told her that even tho the word was spelled wrong and the colors were a little off it was still perfect to me. And you couldn't even tell by the taste that it was spelled wrong!! hehehe!!!

Overall it was a wonderful evening. It just reminded me of how lucky I am to have made so many friends in the last 6 1/2 years!! I was good and didn't cry but I wanted to!!

Gotta run, kids are coming back from lunch!! Take care all and I'll do proper ketchup later!
tara

Hi, all!

I haven't had time to read through everything since Saturday, but I will probably ketchup later. I'm on mom's pc right now and can't tell where I left off.

Mom's doing okay. When I got here yesterday, she'd just come back from the crematorium. Everything is squared away, and since my brother was a vet, she doesn't have too much to do. The cemetery groups the military burials together and we'll probably have the service in May...I'll know more at the end of the week.

Boy, I drank coffee that didn't cost $3.00 and all I had to do was add chocolate syrup to make it palatable. It made mom laugh, because I've been a non drinker all my life.

My WDW stuff went well, and found out that there's a Lenox Meriweather coming out on Friday. They're having the pieces signed, so my SIL is getting one as her birthday/christmas/retirement present. I'm hoping I can pay for it earlier in the day and have it shipped, as the signings start 1/2 hour before my flight leaves.

Prayers to Todd and Amanda.

I'll pop back in here sooner or later. Have some chocolate for me, those of you with baskets. I think I need to go get a candy bar!

Suzanne

:wave2: Very busy day here. Trying to stay out of trouble, too.

Awww, Beth I could send you some malted milk ball eggs ??
YES, Elaine I haven't eaten all of them yet  (but, I've been working on it!)

Tara, sounds like you had a great dinner and got some wonderful gifts. I don't think I would have been able to hold back the tears. Especially when I was pg I was always hormonal.

Hi Suzanne, glad you could stop in and good to hear your mom is doing ok, hang in there!

. :wave2: Beth, getting any reading done ? Slumber party sounds good to me, too.

Better get to work. Supv is on the way............

Page 2 again??? Thanks for that rescue, Sherry :teeth:

Bethie, enjoy those 2 days of "freedom"!!! I think with how hard you've worked, that you deserve it!!! Huh, no quakcers for you?
Oh I just crack me up :p

Work has been okay here... I had a bunch of stuff to try to sort through and they are still waiting on giving me access to a certain system and as soon as that goes through I can be trained. Fortunately I had a lot keeping me busy otherwise!!!

Yummm... hot chocolate!! I'd love a slumber party!!

Hi Nancy :wave2: Haven't heard from Todd or Amanda... we might want to PM Amanda to see how everything is going.

Tara, sounds like a wonderful dinner!!!! I always buy bigger outfits for a few reasons... in case the baby is born big or so that they don't "run out" as the baby grows. I don't think I've ever bought a 0-3 mo outfit... and I do try to buy styles that will correlate to the season and age of baby (if that made sense). Glad you did so well!!

Suzanne, glad you checked in. Thanks for hte update on how everything is going  I hope you can get the Meriweather (Nancy do you know about this one??? ;)) Take care and I hope your flight home is a good one

Rose Mary, not done with them yet??? I'm shocked :yo-yo:

Well I'm tired and I don't ahve much to do as I am waiting on access right now... loads of fun, eh?

Hi gang..
Quick update...
I am kinda tired..
Mom has stayed with us the past 2 days, I worked late last night and am going on about 4 hours sleep...
Dad should be getting out hopefully this weekend.
If you take the tubes off him you wouldn't be able to tell he had surgery.
Thanks for all your wonderful thoughts and prayers..
Poor dad isn't gonna be able to golf for awhile but the important thing is everything turned out wonderful and he will be heading home soon...
I will be working late again tonight, but mom will probaly go home or at least have her car to get around in and i will be able to nap tomorrow...
:D
We will be playing lots of cards this weekend with dad...:bounce:

Beth enjoy your book!!! I have several reese's eggs left over from my basket...I'll beam a couple over to ya ;) you don't like cute little ducks??? honestly..I'm not fond of them either..but that little guy is adorable!! Hamlet is BORING!! Have I said how much I hate literature classes??
Yup Nancy...I've put in PLENTY of hints. Derek saw me posting it last night too :teeth:
Tara...glad to hear that your dinner went well. I think I would have been crying too.
Suzanne thanks for the update...get some rest..and have a safe trip back home
Todd...thanks for updating too. Hope you can get some sleep tomorrow.

Reminder...American Idol is on tonight!!!!

Kristy--are you in the DIS Ncaa bracket thing through USA Today?
I looked the other day & I was in 3rd place...:earseek:
I registered in some local contests where you fill out brackets and I am in 1st place in one of them..:smooth: ..Until the championship game gets here...UK was my choice...

Howdy Todd!! Glad to hear that all is going well for your dad!!! I hope you guys have fun playing cards this weekend!

Rose Mary??? :duck:
(wish we could have a running smilie ;))

Kristy, to make Hamlet better, go rent the movie with Mel Gibson in it. From what I remember, it stays very true to the play and it has Mel Gibson in it :teeth:

Wow, Todd, you are doing great with your bracket!!!

Okay I am curious... is this a fad that I hadn't heard of before being in my pathetic world or do women really shave their arms on a regular basis????

:wave2:

Todd, glad to hear all went well with your dad. Hope you have fun playing cards all weekend. :) Congrats on your brackets.

Tara, sounds like a wonderful dinner. :) I would've been bawling.

Elaine, ewww, never heard of shaving your arms. I barely find time to shave my legs, let alone my arms.

DS's cough isn't quite as bad today. He's still hacking alot, but not near as bad. He should be able to go to school tomorrow.

:hug:TODD!!! Great news that your dad is doing well!! Really can't tell he had surgery except for the tubes??!! WOW!! Good docs!! Hope you get a good nap soon and have a great time playing cards with dad this weekend! In fact, why dontcha buy a new deck of cards to celebrate!!

LOL, no, Laine, I'm not into quackers. But those yellow duckies are toooooooo cute! I think I am going to have to make an exception to my "no ducks" rule!!

Kristy, thanks for the offer of the reese's eggs, but my transporter pad is down for repairs and Scotty took the day off

OK, finished my book and it isn't time to go home yet. la-la-la-la-la.......

Hi YaYas! Busy day here and another tomorrow. I am ready to leave soon. Went to doc for me this time. Not a fun lunch hour, but oh well I don't have to go back for 6 months so I must be fine!

Todd and Amanda, glad to hear your good news. New deck of cards sounds like a lovely slippery idea! Sending prayers your way still. I know your Mom will still be needing them for all the stress she is dealing with for sure. A nice long bubble soak might be in order for her when someone can pry her away from Dad.

Tara, what a great dinner party. Cake sounded yummy too.

I could be in for the hot chocolate jammie party. Put extra whipped cream in mine please.:teeth:

Hamlet/Mel Gibson sounds like the version I would need. Kristy you should do an extra credit on the compare/contrast of book to movie. I am sure you will get an A on that one. Thanks for the AI reminder Kristy.

Beth, glad you finished your book. Did you read Hamlet too just to be a good sista to Kristy?

Elaine arm hair shaving?

Later YaYas...

Wow...Beth is a speed reader...already finished her book.
LOL Y'all are funny. I'm waiting for Blockbuster to get the Gibson version of the movie back in so that I can watch it. Paper has to be on either comparing/contrasting Gibson vs Branaugh or about Hamlet vs Gertrude and Claudius(a book prequel to Hamlet).
Beth...I think you should get one of the yellow duckies...they're just so darn adorable!! :)

Elaine...no...no shaving my arms...although I wanted to as a kid. All the boys picked on me b/c I had more arm hair than they did. I grew up and got over it. Also like Sherry...I barely find time to shave my legs..and don't most of the winter :o

Todd...yup..I joined the DIS brackets(I'm KWKNC)..but haven't checked it since UNC and Kentucky went down. Congrats on getting yours up to 3rd place!

:wave2:

Just finished dinner. Popped in for a peek before starting clean up. :teeth:

MIL just called and she's taking me and 2 of my SIL's (other one didn't wanna go! ) to see Stars On Ice on April 15. :bounce: :bounce:

:wave2:

Todd that is great news about your father :bounce:
I hope you and your mother get some rest now.....and enjoy all the card games this weekend.

Tara, sounds like a very nice party.

Sherry, I'm sure you will have a great time at Stars on Ice.

Beth ....you need to bring more than one book, I guess ;)
That duck is so cute.......hope you get one Kristy.
Beth..I thought you wanted a pig? Or do you want both? ;)

I saw that thread on arm shaving
My cousin did that when she was a teenager....a LONG time ago ;)
But I didn't know it had become "the thing to do"

Opppssss.....I bought too many DVDs today  I better hide some for now.

Got to go put things away before the floor guy gets here.

Evening all... I am not sure where my evening went but it is over half over and I don't wanna do any more cleaning :p

Glad I am not the only one who thought it was a bit off to shave arms... could you imagine the razor burn??? :p I thought that person was just hearing things, but I guess not :o

Sherry, glad to hear that your DS is feeling a little better. I hope that he will be good to go tomorrow :)

I think every once in a while, we all should make exceptions to our rules... enjoy the duckies Bethie :teeth:

Lily, sorry your lunch was spent at the docs... at least you are good to go for another six months!

Wow, Kristy, that would be a great paper to have to write! I've seen both and I admit I am more partial to the Gibson version. NOt sure which was more accurate but I remember in school I got extra credit for going to the movie ::yes::

Oh very cool, Sherry!!! Have fun!!!!

LOL, Nancy, I totally forgot to go get a couple of DVDs today after work. I was going to go, but need to find something to wear for a bridal shower... I have had NO luck with anything lately and keep wearing work clothes instead of cute outfits... but I have a shower to go to at the Ritz Carlton... no clue what to wear

OK, got DizzyLand books and another quick-read sci fi book for tomorrow. I should be able to get thru 8 hours with that!

Lily, glad you've got THAT out of the way for another 6 months! Hate goin' to the doc--for ANYTHING!!!

Sherry, I'm glad eldest is doing better. Hope he continues to improve and gets back to school tomorrow. Now don't YOU come down with it!!
