The worst of life: War, Death, Taxes, No Towel Animals!

We have an upcoming Disney trip. I can't bear the thought of the possibility of no towel animals. I would be willing to pay an extra $25 per night to get a towel shaped like a frog, goat, or snake. Why can't they just increase the prices at WDW so we can be guaranteed towel animals?

I would be willing to go without towels for drying myself if they needed to be used for a family down the hall.

There is nothing in this world as good as walking in your hotel room and staring at a white terry cloth cat resting on your bed.

No Ritz or Four Seasons can ever compare without having this service!

I totally agree! It's sad really, but Towel Animals really make the trip so magical (not just for my children but for me too!).

However, why don't you order some "surprises" from the Disney florist "just in case" the towel fairy does not sprinkle her magic during your trip. I'm doing this for our upcoming trip --- then a towel animal will be a bonus! :teeth:

Thank you for posting this. Now, if only people would realize it is sarcasm.

Towel animals posts are my biggest pet peeve on this site. I bet the thousands of maids that work in WDW would like to strangle the small handful that make towel animals.

:rotfl2: This thread is too funny...

The towel animals are the best! I take pics of mine when I get them, like they are celebs or something. I've even gone as far as requesting my fav. animal, and I got it!

I heard WDW is starting a "tiered" towel animal system. The more you pay for your resort, the better towel animal you'll get. At POP and All Star resorts you will recieve washcloth animals, such as a frog, ant, bee. At the CBR, CSR, PO, you'll get hand towel animals, chipmunk, mouse, squirrel. At WL and AKL you'll get bath towel animals, dog, cat, otter. At Poly, CR, YC, BC, you'll get Bedspread animals, horse, cow, deer, maybe an elephant.

On a regular basis for almost 10 years! :earseek: Yep, thats right, 10 YEARS!! When did I get a towel animal?? Last Dec 10th 2004 for the VERY FIRST TIME! :earseek: I was so thrilled, I yelled over the phone to my DS: "I finally got a TOWEL ANIMAL!!" :rotfl: He had no idea what I was talking about, until I brought it HOME! I just stayed again last week, and cleaned up the room a bit, by putting ALL my stuff out of the way, and wiping down the counters (I was bored) plus leaving a 2.00 tip. :confused3 And lo and beholed! Came back to find 3 towel Animals in my window! :earseek: So, on my last day, I placed them on the table with a 3.00 tip and a note: "Thank you VERY much for the Towel Animals, they are a great part of my trip, and please pass these over to another guest so they can take care of them...keep up the GREAT work!" :p By the way, on the cleaning cart the Towel Animals are ALREADY made UP! :bitelip:

I am trying to raise a little extra money, so if anyone is at WDW the first week of August, please stop by the Polynesian between 2-3pm. I will be selling a variety of towel animals including: cats, dogs, alligators, lions, tigers, bears, rhinoceruses, elephants and platypuses. These wonderful keepsakes can be yours for a mere $25 each (for rhinos, elephants and platypii add an additional $10 each, since these take two towels). Just imagine, your vacation can be perfect even if Mousekeeping tries to ruin it by not making you an adorable towel animal. ;)

It was so pathetic...

Picture a 47 year old woman, on a solo trip over Easter, missing her children who were spending the holiday with their father and step-mother (oddly enough, though, able to manage her grief enough to take a week-long solo trip to WDW!) returning to her room in the Wilderness Lodge after Easter dinner at Artist Point, to find...

a towel bunny!!!! With stick-on dots for eyes and a pipe cleaner whisker!!!!!

It was pathetic how exciting it was...

Woohooo! I am staying at the Poly this June, and maybe I might get lucky to get a cow bedspread animal! :rotfl2: I am willing to sleep on the bare bed as long as I get my bedspread animal! I don't mind if they leave an elephant too!!

And if you're going concierge... you will get the curtain animals.. but gee.. I don't know any animal that is bigger than an elephant!! :rotfl:

Oh yes!! But since I am not doing the concierge at the Poly... I guess no blue whales for me. I am just going to ask the CM at the front desk (when I check in) for the mousekeeping to make me a cow and an elephant bedspread, if they can't guarantee me that since it is only a request..then they can maybe just leave me a hippo! I hope I am not asking too much and think I am  ! I'll let you guys know how it went when we go in June!

When I was at OKW last week, I got a voice mail message that housekeeping was holding a class on towel animals on Thursday afternoon at Community Hall. Maybe you can attend a class and make them at home!!!! :flower:

If I ever received a towel animal i would leave a bigger tip. Bet the housecleaners who do towel animals receive more money in the long run.
