The worst of life: War, Death, Taxes, No Towel Animals!

Go on the Disney cruise, they do elaborate ones every day.

I'll be honest here (no sarcasm at all) ~ I really could care less about towel animals. I have little ones - 6 and 4, and during our last trip even they were not overly impressed by them. We went on a Disney cruise and the towel animals were pretty impressive (as TA go), however even the kids would just look at them and say, *cute* or *nice*, and leave it at that. I think the stickers that are put on them are even tackier. DD6 was WAY MORE impressed by the Mickey pool slide on the cruise ship than any fancy towels - I could barely get her off of it.

DH and I went on a Carnival cruise for our honeymoon, and I was shocked and a bit amused to return to our cabin and find bizarre animals made with my Victoria's Secret lingerie! There was a frog made with a silk green teddie and it was sporting my sunglasses. :earseek: I was not too thrilled that my teddie was twisted and very wrinkled once I unravelled it. DH didn't care either way - after all it was our honeymoon (*wink*). From that point on, I always made sure to put our undergarments away once we left the cabin - I was afraid to come back to an animal made out of my bra or DH's briefs! LOL, strange dudes on those Carnival cruises.

The last time my family and I were at Disney, Mousekeeping just arranged the newly purchased Mickey and Pluto and my kids were "thrilled" beyond belief. I think it absolutely adds a wonderful touch and I "know" my kids (DS11 & DD10) would love the towel animals....my question is...Are you "really" allowed to take them home? I see posting were guests have taken them, but DH is NOT one to take hotel "towel"....if you are allowed to take them, how in the world would I convince DH of that??? ~ thanks

I seriously doubt it would be encouraged to "take" a towel animal from a hotel, or any other towel for that matter. I suppose if you really wanted one, you could ask at the front desk and offer to reimbuse the cost of the towel. Maybe if your DH paid for the towel, he would then feel okay about taking it.
