Daycares have always sickened me! I truly hope that one day when I am a mom I never ever have to put my child in a place like that if I can help it.

And the parents!! What a horrible thing to have to go thru.

What in a persons mind possesses them to KILL a CHILD?! I have zero tolerance and zero sympathy for anyone who kills a child. I know it's not ideal, but this is where I throw the book and say "an eye for an eye". A child is an innocent soul.


Now, if you're talking about daycares, well I'm fine with them. Sometimes complications arise with your schedule and your job, you gotta do what you gotta do. If my job won't permit me to take hours off and I have no friends/family to watch my child, daycare it is. However, I wouldn't just send them off to daycare for the heck of it.

That is absolutely horrible.
I really hate how these stories though change opinions of really great daycares. Three of my close relatives have a daycare and they do a wonderful job and the kids love them.
These stories blow our minds.
Terrible.

I cant believe that. How often do those kind of things happen anyways? Im ok with daycares, but only if you are sure that the employees there can handle everything and not do anything... completley insane at the least. I feel so bad for the family

yes, there are bad daycares out there, and yes there are bad ppl out there but saying that all daycares sicken you is just stupid.

I work in a community center preschool/daycare and its wonderful. The staff is amazing, the administrators are awesome. We have infants -5 yr olds adn we have almost 200 kids in the preschool and about 100 in the daycare. I would not choose to work anywhere else right now.

Maybe you'll be lucky enough not to have to work. But right now, most families need both parents to work. What do you expect them to do with their kids???? I mean seriously.

Your probably a good person and all, but it would be hard for me to put my kid in the care of a stranger. You cannot control what goes on! If I had a nanny in my house, I would definitely have a hidden nanny cam. Call me nuts, but instances like this would warrant me to do that. It takes just one crazy idiot to hurt to child even in a 'good' care center.

Generally I wouldn't wish anyone to hell either. But people who kill innocent beings? Yea, I think that qualifies for a place in hell.

So...my question is...what do you think of parents who put their kids in daycare. If you have such strong opinions about how bad daycares are and about nannys and such, you must have experience with this adn you must have opinions about these parents who leave their kids in the care of "strangers"

That story is so heartbreaking and sad. How the poor little boy crawled to his favorite chair and passed away. That is so awful.

People who kill children are the worst kind of murderers. That little guy could've lived for 100 more years and changed the world, but he never got a chance.

When I get older and have kids, I will probably be forced to use a daycare or nanny (after making sure I'm 100% comfortable and trusting of them). I don't think daycares are bad at all.

I completely agree ....this person should go to h*ll (even though i dont believe in h*ll....but nevermind) ....i was thinking aother things that just cant be said on this board.
Its just that what got me started was that soemone making a rash judgement that all daycares are bad.
I completely agree that you need to be trusting adn 100% comfortable with daycare.....i think that with the proper reseacrh, everyone can find an amazing daycare where they live.....
if you will never be able to trust anyone especialy a nanny that you interview and can do background searches on yourself adn stuff, than there are other issues that need to be taken care of....
and personally, unless there is suspected problems with a nanny, i think that the use of nanny cams are terrible

its not all daycares. i went to 2 different home daycares when i was a child and i think that it was a wonderful experience. one person made a mistake and lost control. im not excusing her at all. but, not all daycares are like this.

its horrible what this woman did. sickening. but that doesnt mean that all daycares are bad

oh god...thats so depressing. my brother is in a daycare right now like as i type this and they're great, the people that run it are amazing and he loves his teachers.

but this story is sickening and very depressing i would never wish that on a child, or anyone. that woman deserves the worst punishment possible

Actually, there's plenty of parents that don't use daycares, and don't trust strangers with their kids.
It's not that unusual.

As for this story it disgusts me. I can't believe anyone could be so horrible to an innocent toddler.

I honestly believe that even the harshest punishment isn't harsh enough for child abusers. That's the ultimate worst crime, in my eyes.

But you can't let one person's horrific actions make you think that the world is "full of disgusting people."
For that one person, there's 100 million who would never dream of harming a child.
You just don't hear about that in the news because it's not "sensational."

And as long as you look into a childcare facility, check their accredidations and take notice of how the care-takers interact with children, childcare is NOT dangerous.
And for many people, it's necessary.

Frankly, I question why a daycare "sicken you."
You're right, parents that need to work to support their children, and leave them in the care of trusted, trained professionals.. That's disgusting.
