Well, i've been going to the gym faithfully now for almost 3 weeks. According to my scale this morning, I am down
4.5 lbs!!
My trainer will only weigh me in once a month or so...so i'm not sure of my measurements. I should have measured myself though at home when this all started.
I've been at the gym every weekday after work. I've finally got my program together...Mondays and Thursdays will be weight/strength training. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays will be cardio. On Tuesdays, i'm going to give the Zumba class a try. It happens to be right before my yoga class, so the timing is perfect. The other cardio days that I don't have a class of some kind, I just get on the elliptical and go for 30 minutes. I am slowly upping my time on the elliptical. When I first started, I could barely survive 10 minutes. I finally pushed myself one night to go for 30 minutes and I truly surprised myself! I didn't keel over!!
I truly am starting to notice a difference, not in the way that I look or how my clothes fit yet, but in how I feel. I'm not nearly as run down as I was before. I can go up a flight of stairs and not feel like I need a nap afterwards. My legs still hurt when climbing the stairs, but I think that's from the muscles being worked in ways they haven't been worked in a lonnnnnnnnnng time. My posture is 1000 times better since i've been really making an effort to keep my back straight. And I love yoga. Who'd have thought?? My Tuesday (and sometimes Friday) night yoga classes are the highlight of my week! I feel so good afterwards...i'm even doing yoga at home. I've got a nice 30 minute yoga workout DVD...I feel so much more relaxed and I sleep so much better now.
So for those of you on the podcast cruise...who's going to join me for yoga on the beach at
Castaway Cay??

Can you imagine doing yoga with the ocean right in front of you...what a way to relax...
