The Willy's head to Walt's World..again!!! 5/18: TR Started!!

Day 1 - May 7, 2009

11:25am - Flight arrives at MCO!
12:00pm - Line up for DME!!

(For those of you who have never used DME, when you see the line you have to wait in, don't get discouraged, it moves fast!!)

12:45pm - Check in to the Polynesian!!! Explore the resort, swim and Emily naps!
5:00pm - Head to DTD for some shopping!!
6:30pm - T-Rex for dinner
8:00pm - Ghirardelli sundaes
10:00pm - head back to the Poly for a good nights sleep!

So, that's our plan for the first day....as of now! We usually go to MK on our first day, so we'll see if we can resist doing the same when we arrive this time. Escpecially since we'll see that beautiful castle across the lagoon calling our names!!

Oh I love the first day! The Poly is gorgeous. I can't wait to see the view from your room so make sure you take pics! The Poly pool is also pretty cool. It's been awhile since we've stayed there and I know they've made changes to it since then. Oh, it'd be so hard for me to not go to the MK the first day! Especially looking at it across the lagoon!

Hopefully Em will take a good nap for you! I know it'd be hard to fall asleep knowing that you're just getting to WDW!

Oooh, T-Rex restaurant! Will you take pictures for me?! And make sure you tell us all about it!

Ugh! I don't care how cheap our Spirit flight is, I will NEVER fly Spirit again! They have changed our flight time AGAIN! It's not too bad though, we were scheduled to depart Detroit at 8:50am and now we leave at 7:35am. More Disney time!! The frustrating thing is, I just booked our town car, so now I have to call and change the time and I have to reschedule Emily's enchanted phone call from Mickey for that morning. Whatever!

Sounds like an excellent First Day at Disney. I've heard wonderful things about ME and then I have heard horrible things. I think it just depends on when you hit it.

Question our flight gets in at 5:15 at night. How long will take us to get to our hotel do you think?

It usually takes about an hour and 30 minutes to get off the plane, onto the MCO monorails to the main terminal, downstairs to DME, through the DME line, on the DME bus (bus ride is about 25 min of that time) and to check-in!

Ya'll are so much better at the planning out your days than I am. I have come to the conclusion that my bunch will change my day plans everytime I make them........lol. The only time they stuck to it was the first time we went. Since then they always want to go to MK when I plan AK, or DHS when I plan Epcot......etc. If I plan an early day they want to sleep in, so now we just wing it..........

Ok, how do I get the call thingie set up? Dallas would love a call from Mickey.

Your family just doesn't appreciate the hard work you put into these vacations, do they? Mike and I used to wing it before the DDP became popular and when park hoppers were included in your package. Now we definitely plan out which days we will be where fso we can make our ADRs and we don't get the hoppers.

Yeah, I think your first night will just be relaxing and enjoying everything AKL has to offer! Is there a time difference for you? Are you CST in Iowa?

Thanks! I will check it out! I don't know if Jenny would go for it. She told Santa to get lost when he called since she had just seen him uptown and he was trying to tell her he was in the North Pole. Silly man he forgot where he'd been that day. I told her mommy does that all the time.

No they don't, and I think I need to address that.. Really though it isn't a big deal anymore. I use to get upset about it. Last year we had to kinda stick to my plan because of the DDP. This time we are going without the DDP. I love having the hoppers because we can usually do AK and DHS in about half a day.
