The why are you going to Disney World again trip report.

After reading so many wonderful trip reports I decided to start my own.
The Cast: Me Leslie (38) extreme Disney planner (at least according to my family), DH Frank (40) and of course the biggest Disney Princess there is Emily (15). Disney has been in my heart for my entire life my favorite character is Winnie the Pooh and of course Mickey Mouse. I have been to Disney World so many times as a child that I couldn’t count. When I was a child my great-grandfather lived in south Florida so every year my mother would take us to visit every summer on our way to visit.

I met my husband Frank when I was in High School and we have been married for 17 years. He was not always a Disney fan but I have now converted him into the Disney way. We took Emily on her first trip to Disney when she was 18 months and that is when she fell in love.

Emily's 1st trip to Disney

When Emily was 2 we moved to South Florida for about 4 years and every chance we got we drove 4 hours to go see Mickey but we missed NY and our families so we moved back to NY in 1998. The one main thing I missed about moving back to NY was being so close to Disney. When we visited Disney in August 2004 we contemplated buying into DVC but decided against mainly because Frank had just gotten hurt on the job right before we went and we weren’t sure when he was going to go back to work or if. He has 2 collapsed discs in his lower back and was on disability for 2 years. He has had some great therapy and went back to work in 2006 but not the same job, he couldn’t go back to doing what he did (he was a courier for Fedex). He now has a great desk job but someday he will eventually have to have back surgery but he is doing great.

Hoop Dee Doo Thanksgiving November 2006

When we went to Disney in November 2006 we took the plunge and bought into DVC Saratoga because just love going to Disney every year. At first we just bought 150 points but last June we added an additional 50.
Whew that was a lot of info; I will try to keep it shorter from now on.
This year we are going August 16 through August 24, yes we know it is hot but we actually like going during that week. We are taking with us our best friends and their son Alexander who is now 9 but will be 10 by the time we go to Disney. Frank and Tom have been friends since they were 15 years old. Tom is Emily’s Godfather. Every year we tried to get Tom and JoAnne to go to Disney with us but they never could arrange their vacations time with us. This year they decided this was the year for them

Originally we were going to all fly to Orlando I love flying and we always fly Southwest because the airport in Islip, Long Island is the best and easiest airport to fly out of it. But JoAnne is really afraid to fly so we decided that JoAnne and I along with the kids would drive down and Frank and Tom will be flying.

I cannot wait to drive to Orlando, we are going to have so much fun, we are planning to leave on Thursday August 14 and arrive by Friday afternoon, spend the afternoon at downtown Disney because the guys hate shopping and we can get out of the way. Frank and Tom will be flying in on Saturday. We plan on staying onsite at probably a value, Emily wants to stay at at the All Star Movies and then check out and check into the Wilderness Lodge Villas on Saturday Morning.

Thank you, I usually get a new snowglobe every year but the last couple of times we were at Disney I could'nt find any I really liked.

Crystal Palace- Breakfast
Yak & Yeti - Dinner

Kona (this is my favorite restaurant)- Dinner

Chef Mickey- Dinner

Also Frank & Tom are going to be doing the Richard Petty Experience

Here is my itinerary so far we are not getting hoppers this year

Thursday, August 14 - 7:00am Start driving, hope to make it to South Carolina by night find a hotel along 95 (I have AAA )
Friday, August 15 - Get up early hopefully be back on the road by 7:00 am, arrive late afternoon head to a value Emily wants to stay at All Star Movies go to Downtown Disney
Saturday, August 16 - get up early 7:00 check out go have breakfast at the Capt Cooks at the poly and check into Wilderness Villas, wait for Frank and Tom to arrive via the Magical Express. This will also be a Epcot day dinner at Rose & Crown 7:15
Sunday, August 17 - Magic Kingdom - EMH evening dinner at Chef Mickey's
Monday, August 18 - Disney Hollywood Studios - dinner at Mama Melrose 6:00
Tuesday, August 19 - Magic Kingdom - Breakfast 8:00am Crystal Palace
Wednesday, August 20 - Our only Animal Kingdom day EMH evening dinner at Yak & Yeti 5:00
Thursday, August 21 - Disney Hollywood Studios and Frank & Tom at The Richard Petty Experince dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe 7:00
Friday, August 22 - Epcot evening EMH lunch at Coral Reef 1:00
Saturday, August 23 - Magic Kingdom dinner at Kona Cafe 6:00 - back to Wilderness Lodge pack up
Sunday, August 23 - check out early pack up car, Frank & Tom get on Magical Express and leave Disney World
