But you can rest assured his golf clubs have been washed, shined and all packed in their travel case and by the front door.[/B] :laughing:

Oh my gosh! I'm married to one of those, too!

Ulta!!!! :lovestruc

Does yours carry OPI? Can I give you a list and you can pick me up a few? :lmao:

I adore Ulta (though Sephora is my fave... it's further away). I bought this at Ulta last week and am now wearing it - it's from the Muppet Collection and it's called Rainbow Connection:

Not sure what's for dinner... hope to get to the store today, but really hate shopping on a Saturday - esp the one prior to Thanksgiving!

That's the one I want!

There's one...count 'em...ONE! store in my area (not the town that I live in) that carries OPI. I called and asked if they had the Muppet Collection and their response was that the colors weren't out. :confused: When I said I knew differently, they blew me off! :mad: I'm going to try online!

I can mail you a bottle if you want :goodvibes There is an Ulta a mile from my house so I'm near it all the time.

I have been sitting here at bass pro shops for 3 hours trying to purchase David's anniversary present...

I will skip my planned dinner and have Chinese take out. Ughhhh. I am not a good waiter.

Thank you so much for the very sweet offer. :goodvibes

I probably should have tried online first though, because I found it on Amazon for $2.50.

Just FYI for you if you love OPI, they have them for cheap! :banana:

But again, thank you so much!

Is there a line or are they skinning the cow themselves or something? :scared1:

My internet is again spotty at best. So don't worry about me. You might want to say a pray that I don't strangle AT&T though.

Strangle away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There has been a commission to study what went wrong during the last twp storms and one of the reports was that ATT has not maintained their poles. They own most of the telephone poles and apparentlythere were hundreds that had faded red X's to designate that they needed to be replaced. At least 5 years ago. :mad:

I'm starting my Thanksgiving cooking today. I'm making the turkey brine, the roasted turkey gravy and the cranberry sauce. I pulled a container of shrimp creole out of the freezer, will cook some rice and that will be dinner!

You are good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have not made a dent in my Holiday shopping, never mind cooking! I am going to cut back though. I always cook a lot of sides and no one really eats some of them so I am rethinking my strategy this year. Gail is visiting Debbie and may not leave until Thanksgiving morning. She told me that Kim may need to work so she told her not to worry,. just come over when she can, she can have dessert. Kim told her that she wants dinner!! She said, "Not to worry Kim, Auntie eats all day!":rotfl2: This is the one who left with a coffee cup filled with gravy and some dinner rolls to eat in the car :rotfl:

Aimee - Did you notice my name in my signature?????

I learned a few years ago the only way I can manage to have a nice day on Thanksgiving is to start early. I'll be doing one dish per day until Thursday, then the only thing left to do is put the bird in the oven!

Wow! I'm still gathering ingredients, I've only done half my shopping. I've got to start thawing a turkey soon too!

That is some funky looking nailpolish! I love it!

Yikes what are you getting him?

Dinner tonight will be the leftover pot roast, as hot roast beef sandwiches.

Yikes what are you getting him?

I got him a pistol...Springfield 40cal XDM and a Benelli Supernova Tactical pump shotgun......

He has been drooling over these for months... I got Diamonds, Sapphires, and a Faberge Eggs and he got two guns...

Check the shipping cost though before you buy from Amazon...A lot of the cheap OPI products are from outside vendors and they charge A LOT for shipping so it's really not worth it.

Kathy Louise - I'm happy to soak my feet in bourbon. Sadly, I'm not sure that anyone is going to appreciate the 'added flavour' in my cake! :scared1:

Same here! She buys me the nice things, but I know all about firearms. Fran wanted to get into Cowboy Action Shooting, most people go out to the range with a pistol or two and borrow a shotgun from a friend. Not not Fran, she bought at least 7 shotguns, and I'd say that we have about 10-20 single action pistols, not to mention enough ammunition to probably take out the whole Animal Kingdom, five times (not that I'd want to do that), but it's truly insane the amount of shooting supplies that we have. And we only went shooting twice at a range and once at a CAS class. And that was more than three years ago.

If you were in California, you couldn't even get it for him as a present unless he came along, and you would have to wait at least two weeks from the time you bought it, plus you/he would have to take a written firearms safety test (unless you already had the card). Sorry you had to wait for so long and jump through so many hoops.

I would!

So yesterday I made Paula Deen's Pot Roast. I hadn't had this in a long time and it was really good. You season the roast with salt, pepper and garlic powder which she calls House Seasoning. The sear it in some Canola Oil on all sides.

DSCN3244.jpg

Then you take sliced onion, smashed garlic, 3 bay leaves a few beef boullion cubes, a can of condensed Cream of Mushroom soup, 1/2 a cup of Chardonnay and water to cover the roast and put it all in a crock pot and cook it for about 8 hours.

DSCN3245.jpg

Here is it before I put in the liquids

DSCN3247.jpg

So this looks sort of gross once you've added the liquids, but this is how it starts.

DSCN3248.jpg

So after about 7-8 hours you wind up with this

Here is the finished roast

I took the gravy that the meat cooked in and added some cornstarch slurry, and here is my dinner last night.

DSCN3255.jpg

Tonight I reheated the roast, made some instant potatoes, and frozen creamed spinach, and took the rest of the gravy and heated it with cornstarch slurry and here was dinner tonight.

No cooking today. After church we will go out somewhere or pick up a sandwich on our way home. This is my praise team week, so that means singing in all 3 services, including invitations. I have to be back at 5:15 tonight to sing again. It's a busy, but musical, day!

Lindsay- I just want to say that if Kevin is teasing I would laugh but honestly if he is not that nonsense would stop. as i said, I go out of my way to accommodate guests if I know that there is something specific they want but there is no way I would let anyone make others uncomfortable at my table. My Mom was a fanatic about making sure everyone had plenty at our table but my IL's were terrible! Eating there was a nightmare for years until we stopped going.

Sadly, he's not kidding. He's a jerk most of the time anyway (except one-on-one, he's totally a nice guy, I don't get it) and if it's not the coffee, it's something else. I do the breakfast for my FIL, and it's worth the trouble. I don't think he'd mind if I told Kevin to put a sock in it, though, lol. My main beef is the way he talks to Ryan, who is his stepson. I told Scott a long time ago that I will not put up with that bull in my house anymore, so you might as well prepare yourself. He was more than cool with that. But it looks like Ryan's father will have him on Thanksgiving so I won't have to worry about that. That's a LOOOONG story for another day.

Ulta!!!! :lovestruc

Darlin, I would be MORE than happy to send you any color you needed! DO NOT pay a ton on shipping!!! I am at Ulta all the time and would love to hook you up!

I waited 15 minutes on hold no person in any country came on the line to help. I just unpluged and reset the router for the 10x and whalla it works again :headache:

Dinner yesterday was turned around. I ended up making a quick pork stir fry. The last leaf pick up took more time than I had planned before Mr A had to go out.

Dinner today is the Bang Bang Shrimp :headache:

That looks positively divine!

Good luck with your singing!

And I feel so lucky. Not only have I found my kindred foodie sisters, but y'all are taking care of me cosmetically too. :lovestruc

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today we have to do some cleaning around the house. And tomorrow my dad comes!!! :woohoo:
Tonight's dinner will be homemade pizza.
Other than that, I hope everyone is getting ready for a great Thanksgiving and that y'all have a great end to your weekend!
:hug: to all you wonderful ladies!
stopping in quick before I get back to work in the kitchen. It is filled with stuff, and i need to figure it out before I go to work. Buddy is working in the yard, my neighbor started it yesterday (hangs my head in shame) I told him how much I appreciated it and he was awesome. Buddy plows his driveway whenever he thinks he needs help and he told me it is a lifesaver so he wanted to return the favor.
I baked an apple cake and hope the middle is cooked, Will send it this afternoon!
Pies are all baked, the last is a cherry cranberry pie that I hope came out okay. The reviews suggested substituting cranberrys for teh WB sauce it called for so that is what I did. Now I cannot find the recipe so I did not know how long to adjust teh baking time. Oh well, my neighbors will not mind if it is nto good, there are going to be a lot of pies here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
