The What's For Dinner Thread - Feb '09(recipe index in OP)

Well, don't think the upgrade made it faster........:rolleyes1

WFD - I butterflied and marinated a whole chicken to grill, baked mac & cheese(Gretchen's grandma's recipe) and a spinach salad.

Yup I think it is slower than before.

I am bored and so done with cleaning for today.

We are having burgers on the grill fries and fruit.

Muffin, welcome !!!:flower3:

Hey did you guys hear Cat Cora is opening a new restaurant where Spoodles is??? :thumbsup2 I am excited.

Ann

I'm excited too! Sadly, as much as I like Spoodles, it's far from it's original concept and not real unique anymore.

Okay, so I'm going through old financial papers and I don't know what to keep and what not to....

Here's what is in the "to shred" pile (it is about a foot tall already :scared1: )
-old electric bills (circa 2000-2009)
-old apartment rent bills (from past apartments...not this one...yet)
-bank statements from banks I no longer have accounts at
-old job performance evaluations/student teaching observations (2005 and prior)
-old renters insurance documents

Set my mind at ease....this is not stuff I need to keep, right?

I am keeping (for now anyways)
-current credit card statements (and a few years back also)
-current bank statements
-all tax documents

How far back do I have to keep things like electric/phone bills? Not at all?!?
I have huge piles of paper and I don't know what I need to keep and what I don't need to keep, so I just keep it all but it's a LOT and I don't want to move it all. :rotfl:

We don't keep any paperwork, really. Well, tax documents but all of our credit and bank statements are online not paper and we pay our bill online. I never needed any of that junk :confused3

I'm glad the Dis is back but Kat is right, it's not any faster! I have a work dinner again tonight. Grr. I'm so beaten down from these.

Boy did I miss you girls all day!!

WFD- grilled pork tenderloin (marinated in terryaki, honey, & garlic), baked potatoes (w/ sour cream and chives), and mixed veggie. Gosh, I love baked potatoes!!!

I stress so much over the kids parties, that Alan laid down the law, and only lets the kids have friend birthday parties on odd years. Even years it's family only. Much easier!

We don't have parties every year. I did like Caili's party last year though. We had it at the gymnastics school, and I didn't have to do anything. :thumbsup2 It was also less money than the party we had here for Liam.

What good citizens!!!;)

Apparently, many other families had the same idea based on the parking lot and crowds at the American Girl store. There was an hour long wait to get for girls to get their DOLL'S hair styled. Um, no, we did not do this!

IMy BIL is there right now, due to come home and things have quieted down a bit since he arrived last year.

My husband has done two tours. The second was definitely an improvement over the first. I hope your BIL is home soon.

Costco has beef tenderloin (choice) for $6.49 a pound - so it's about $30 for a package of it.

That's a really good price. I would roast it.

The boards have been up and down, so I don't think I've read everything. We had a busy weekend. Today we went skating and Caili had a birthday party to attend. We just got takeout...Indian food for me, chicken tenders for the kids.

Rough day without the DIS!!!! Hope everyone had a great Sunday.

Greg & I went for walks outside yesterday & today to get "aired out" as my Grandma used to say. Felt good.

Tomorrow 8am I have the doctor & maybe the "minor" ear surgery. I'll check in when I get home. DM is driving, I still haven't driven because of the dizziness & not hearing well.

Dinner tonight was Chinese take out....yummy but I feel like a cow.

I forget who was talking about historical books...sorry, but I started a new book last night that so far has been really good. "The Gods of Newport" by John Jakes, all the history of the Newport R.I. mansions & the deliciously bad things that helped build them........Goodnight All.

Ann

My sister was just telling me about that.

Quiet day reading and watching TV. Got our new coffee maker,:yay: my DM was out buying a new laundry center and had two coupons for Bed Bath and Beyond so she got the coffee maker too.

We are having leftover Italian rice pot dinner thingy tonight.

Please pray for me. I'm not having a good start to the week.

Good Morning!

Wow! I was having DIS withdrawal too! Thank God for Facebook or else I would not know what to do!!!

I think dinner will be teriyaki steaks from Market Day...not sure of the sides.

Have a great day all!

ETA: Maria, I feel so bad that you are feeling so ill. I hope you can get some relief today...hugs.

Linday, Hope your day gets better.

Happy Monday everyone!

I started packing for our trip yesterday and we did some cleaning. We started to clean out the new room DS is going to move into. We still have alot to do but DH made a great start.

I want to try to be a little movitvated and mop my floors today. They are driving me crazy.

Not much cooking for me this week, because DH is working alot before we go away. Dinner will be at my parents.

Ann

Morning all, I hope everyone had a great weekend. We got lots of raking done, and still have a lot to go. There are flurries out today! We are supposed to get 1-2 inches of ocean affect snow tonight! I would really like to put our boots away.

Ann- Have fun packing, I always do for a disney vacation. I almost love getting ready as much as I love being there.

We went to spoodles shortly after it opened, I remember really enjoying it. I don't know why we never went back.

Bethany- I keep everything. I have every utility bill since we bought our house 9 years ago. I have the same "to be filed" box as you, but I'm slowely getting better. I guess I should start getting rid of some things. Where are the plane tickets for?

Leftover spinach lasagna for dinner tonight. Probably some bread and dipping olive oil on the side. Have a great day all.

Good morning everyone! I don't have time to read back this morning as I have jumped right back into work but hopefully I'll get a chance this evening. I just wanted you all to know we arrived safely back home and had a great time.

Hope to catch up tonight!

Welcome back, Gretchen!

Maria -- I hope you get some relief today. You have been sick for so long.

Lindsay -- I hope your day improves.

My mom gave me some leftover broccoli soup, so I am having that after skating.

Good Monday Morning!

Gretchen- welcome home!
Maria- I hope the procedure works. As others have said, you have been sick far too long.

Ann- Happy packing! I am jealous

Lindsay

Laura- parties away from home are usually cheaper. It makes no sense but there it is

I am not caught up, I'm sorry. The slow boards made me too nuts to try to keep up yesterday. I'll stop back later to see everything that I missed.

Dinner is :confused3

The boards are SO slow today! I hope this does not get timed out. Here are photos from yesterday's dinner. Green salad:

Lindsay, I hope your day gets better.

Bethany, you probably don't need to keep any of that paperwork--except for your tax stuff, of course!

I think I am making a salad for dinner tonight.

Welcome home Gretchen! Can't wait to hear about your weekend!

Maria - I'll be praying that the procedure goes well and provides some relief. Please let us know as soon as you can how it went.

Lindsay - Hope your week improves.

WFD - Beans & rice and grilled sausages.

I wanted to let y'all know that our prayers were answered, Kyle actually got to close yesterday's game and did VERY well. It's been a long, long time since I've seen him walk off the mound with a huge smile. His confidence is creeping back up.:goodvibes
