Today I was in the pirates lobby waiting for my friends to join...and then this one girl joins the game and I booted her because I wanted my friends to play with me. Then I calmly explained to her that I was playing with my friends who were in the lobby. Then she goes and starts getting mad at me saying things like " I'll report you!" and I said "Why" and shes like " Because you booted me from the game for no reason."

Then she left.

I think this is so rude how people just fight back. Because if you fight fire with fire....you just get a bigger fire.

It's also somewhat rude to boot people who are just looking for a game to play, although her reaction sounds a bit extreme.

This part of your post shows that you started the 'fight' since she was "fighting back". I'm not saying don't play with your friends; I'm just saying sometimes please let someone else play, too, or realize that if you do boot them, they are the offended party, not you.

Someone else had stated it in another thread not all that long ago, but that when people boot from a game, please cut the booter some slack because you don't know if the game has pre-arranged teams. So I can't agree with you that what she did was somewhat rude...if the teams were pre-arranged, well then she has the right to play with just those pre-arranged players. The booted player can easily find another game to join or she can start one of her own. :)

Booting is not an offense that you can get in trouble for. If it were, it wouldn't be an option in the game. I also don't think you need to offer an explanation for booting becasue almost everyone it at some point, for some reason. The key is to not take it personally.

You'd be surprised at how often it's not that easy to find a game to play when you're not already in a group; so many people have only their group they want to play with, or there are only level three games and you play levels one and two, or all the games are capture and you want battle, etc. Yes, they can start their own game, and wait (sometimes I've waited for over ten minutes and not gotten two players for each side), then try in another instance, over and over. Some days there are games availabe everywhere, other days not much at all.
It's just like the popular group on the playground, not letting the other kids play. Yes, it's their right to do so, but no, it's not nice.

True it's not against values, and sometimes you need to boot to make the teams even. But to just boot someone who joins while you wait for someone you know to come along sends the message 'we don't want you because you're not one of us.' Sometimes they boot someone, then stand there and say 'please join' as others enter the room. Kind of hard not to take that personally.

I've been on both sides - I've booted due to having pre-arranged groups playing. Also because sometimes if there are too many in the game the lag is so bad; it varies on the time of day.

I don't always play with set groups either...however, if I am playing with one of my friends and one of us are booted off the list, the other leaves too.

I've been booted off too when I've been playing without friends- I don't take it personally, the person that started the game...well, it's their game, their choice. I just join another game, or find another lobby with another game, start my own, whatever....I've never had to wait that long for a game, no matter which level I played.

Like I said, it's their choice if they started the game...just like if you start it, it's your choice.....

That is definitely rude! But still, they aren't rejecting "you", just your cartoon, or the name, or whatever. Besides, imagine if they actually let you in the game. They are probably the same people who yell "cheat", and dictionary dance ot call people names in the game. Who wants to put up with that? At least you know their true colors up front.

But she wasn't sitting there waiting for her friends to come along to join
the game. She already had friends in her lobby that made even teams.
If you have the teams already and are already set to play, then there isn't
any reason to be upset at the players of that game.

The biggest problem is that even though many kids know that players are
playing with friends on even teams, they will constantly try to join the game
just to annoy the person booting them. They are perfectly capable of
finding a game to play. I've seen this happen in games I'm in with teams
(playing friendly flag) while there are other pirates games started in the
same lobby
. Instead of joining the other games that needed players,
these people were trying to join our game to start trouble.

I know it seems callous to boot someone from a game, but I agree not to
take it personally. I've been booted from Pirates and Mansion before.
I just join a different game. I can see how it's difficult for kids to not
take it personally, though.

I don't know who the others are who boot all the time, but the people I
play with only boot if there are teams. If we're playing without teams
on both sides, nobody gets booted from the game.

She was probably just a new player. She's just gonna have to get used to the friend teams, and booting and all that.So I can see why she would fight back :confused3
