The Week of Thanksgiving

Started checking 10 days ago when my family decided to go back to Disney the week of Thanksgiving. We camped in April 2011 but stayed at the CBR in November 2011. We decided camping was the only way to go and we loved Thanksgiving week.

It's all booked up!!!!! I've been checking at least 15 times a day plus I asked a travel agent to help me in my search. No luck!!!

Is this normal? Any tips or suggestions? Should I take a break and check back next month?

Yes! This is normal.
I made my ressies for Thanksgiving 2012 in July of 2011.
Don't take a break. Keep trying.
Add days to the beginning and end of your trip. If you book the site (room) only, you have up until 8 days before your checkin date to adjust or cancel with no penalty.

Luckycharm is on target here. For popular periods like spring break, Halloween, Thanksgiving week, Christmas Week, I strongly recommend at least a year in advance. <you can always cancel>.

Try putting in a longer period of stay. You can do up to 30 days on one reservation so try longer than just the week you are trying for. The WDW ressie system sometimes will *magically* have availability for longer stays that include the shorter period it told you was not available. If you can get the longer period, take it, pay the one night reservation fee, then call back later (sooner) and drop the unwanted days. That way you end up with what you want.

Some campsite levels (Partial, Full, Preferred, Premium) may be truly sold out so you may have to take something else in order to get into the Fort.

PS - I plugged in arriving 11/11 and checking out 12/1 in Disney's online ressie system and got availability in all four types of sites for the entire time. So do this and nail it down!
