So I finally firmed up our dates. We will be in the World from November 14-23! Any particular tips for that time. And what about Christmas happenings/decorations/etc.? I know there will be some but not all.

Hello!!! I actually went this past November, Nov 13-16. You should definitely be able to see some Christmas happenings during that time! We were able to see the Osborne Lights at Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom will be decorated as well. During Nov-Dec Disney does the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, which if you have never done it you should. It's a great experience, there is a huge Disney Christmas Parade, a special Wishes castle lighting ceremony, you get "free" cookies and hot chocolate, and it even snows on Main Street :)

The Osborne Lights was actually one of my favorite parts of our trip, you really felt like a kid again seeing all the Christmas lights everywhere. it's absolutely magical!

It seems that each day in November, more and more decorations go up. Epcot and the resorts seem to be the last areas to be decorated. When we were at Epcot on 11/15, they had some of the poinsettias planted, some large Christmas trees up, and garland/lights around the world buildings.

You will have such a great time, enjoy!!!

I agree with everything Runner said.
It's probably the best week to visit in November seeing as Jersey Week and Veterans Day will be over and the Thanksgiving crowds won't be there yet.
The weather and temperatures are really good too. The Florida heat is usually gone by then but it's still good pool weather. This is nice if pools and/or water parks mean a lot to you. However, keep in mind that Typhoon Lagoon will be closed for refurb. at this time.

Thanks. I'm really excited about the Osbourn lights and the MVMCP. We've never been during the holidays at all. We've always done F&WF and MNSSHP in October, or spring, so I'm really looking forward to this trip!

You are going at great time. We did it last year and had a blast. Hope you get free dining - we did!!!

I hope the Osbourne lights will be there - they are fabulous! - because DS and his new bride will be there for their honeymoon! However, I thought I read something about 2014 being their last showing...anyone know for certain?:confused3

We went that exact week this past year.

The pros:
- Except for the last weekend (which starts Thanksgiving week) the crowds are reasonable
- Osborne Lights and MVMCP are both happening and many decorations are up
- The life sized gingerbread houses go up during that week at several deluxe resorts

The cons:
- It was still pretty crowded all week - much more so than in years past when we went for that week
- This past year it was freakishly cold all but 3 days of our trip - highs in the high 40s or low 50s a couple of days
- Epcot story tellers and candlelight processional have not started yet

While I had a very good time, I have decided to stick to warmer months. Being so cold kept it from being quite as fun as I would have liked and made swimming out of the question.

I hope you have a great time and better weather!

We go every year that time, in addition to what everyone said The Grand Floridian has their gingerbread house display up so does the contemporary...
We got free dining last year.. Also plan for the weather, we had a few nice days then the last 2 days were literally 35 degrees when we wokeup in the morning on the way to the park they closed the waterparks and some water rides.
