Debating the two weeks. I leaned towards before, due to it being slightly warmer and is typically a pretty good week, but it's looking like that is going to be more crowded than usual based on ADR and resort availability. Wondering if the week after would be better. Touring plans and EasyWDW seem to conflict with their data, so I'm not really sure.

When would you go and why?? And it'll just be me and DD(4).

I would say go the week after. That first week of December has always been good to my family.

Part of the week before is included in the free dining offer, so that is why resort and ADR availability seem high. If taking advantage of free dining is important or a bonus, then the week before makes sense. I also think the crowds will be a little lower that week than the week after.

However, ALL the Christmas events will be up and going the week after, so if that is important or a bonus, then I would choose that week. Most of the decorations will already be there the week before, but Candlelight Processional and Holiday Storytellers don't start until after Thanksgiving.

Candlelight Processional starts the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so you have a chance to see that if you wait and go that week. ADR's are pretty much booked for the 13 - 20th already...

We have been the week after and it is awesome. All of the Christmas stuff to enjoy, without the crowds and with great weather.

We have also been the week after and loved it. We go every year for the week of Thanksgiving, but one year made it a week later. If school schedules allowed, we would go that week more often.

Interesting! I wasn't expecting such a swayed response to after! We went the week before several years ago and it was awesome. Didn't have nearly the same issue with ADRs, and we even had a bigger party. I really only want one or 2 ADRs, although can't seem to get the ones I want for the Nov week.

Do y'all think there will be a substantial difference in crowds? I suppose that's the most important issue.

I went the week following Thanksgiving in 2013 but I wasn't happy with crowd levels (especially after going for so many trips at lower crowds). I would say it was BAD, just not as low as I'm used to. We spent Wed-Sat in Orlando and then the week after in Disney - there were many tour groups (at least on the three days we were in MKx2 and AK). The Xmas offerings were fun to experience, but now that I did, I will stick to lower crowd weeks. Granted, I can't say anything for the crowds the week before, but I imagine they'd be lower by a little bit.

I would go the week before particularly as I do not want to take vacation time the December week and save a few vacation days for closer to Christmas and at home.
