NOTE1: On the check-in level of Contemporary, past Front Desk, then left. The dining
entrées are a bit overpriced; service can be spotty, and food quality was only average.
Unfortunately, nothing to write home about or that demands a second visit. One problem
is food doesn't always come out as ordered, or hot. The restaurant is a quiet place to
eat as it doesn't seem to draw the loud kids or uncouth adults. To us, it is an OK place
to eat dinner, but nothing that rates a rave. The menu has American-type dishes versus
something abstract or exotic. We thought Lamb Shank and locally-sourced Pork Tenderloin
were very good, but were displeased with Oven Roasted Chicken and Beef Tenderloin. Trio
Desserts, with three samples on same plate, are pretty tasty. The good side is that the
bar is comforting and welcoming; a nice place to throw a few back. The eatery doesn't
exude "Disney", but atmosphere is pleasant.
.
NOTE2: Although mediocre for dinner, the breakfast buffet is one of WDW's best kept
secrets for both price and quality, the other being Trails End in Fort Wilderness.
.
NOTE3: We are going to see the last showing or Osborne lights. We will go the
2nd or 3rd week of November, when Blackout Dates do not apply for us. We
will eat at The Wave for a late lunch, then travel to DHS via bus (monorail
to MK, then bus to DHS). So, YOU KNOW the eatery has to have a decent lunch
for us to plan ahead to visit. Also, usually, no AR is needed EVERA for lunch,
which makes for a good at-the-last-moment choice.
