By the 4th day of our trip last week, my mom was ready to eat off of a 'real plate' as she called it. I looked up some menus online, and then went to the concierge to see what was available for lunch. The CM said that The Wave was good, and they had plenty of availability for lunch. We booked a 12:20 lunch and headed over there.
We had a little trouble finding it since it's tucked away in a corner, but once we arrived we couldn't help but admire the entry with the wave theme and blue lighting. I was in a tank top and capris and felt a bit underdressed because many of the other guests were obviously attending a conference upstairs. We were seated right away, and our server was wonderful!!! He was asking about my DH (who was not with), and we talked about his brother who had recently deployed.
When we were ready to order he told us his favorites which included a chicken sandwich with goat cheese, tomatoes, and arugula and their potatoes wedges. Mom and Dad both had this sandwich and it was wonderful as were the potato wedges!!! YUM!!
I wanted to eat light so I ordered the lettuce wrap appetizers with baby scallops and sauteed lamb. It was quite spicy, but very good!
Once we had finished our meal, we weren't planning to get dessert, but the waiter said it was on him for my anniversary. He also said we were able to pick and choose from the different options they provided. I said we only needed one dessert, and I selected my mix and match options. He came back with TWO
dessert trays!
vanilla-braised pineapple spears (Dad really liked these), chocolate mousse with salted caramel sauce (I was in HEAVEN!!!
), and coconut panna cotta with passion fruit drizzle (I could live without this...the passion fruit drizzle was quite bitter)
zucchini-carrot cake with vanilla panna cotta (yum! very homey and comforting flavor), lemon cornbread with vanilla panna cotta (this would not have been my first choice, but it was very good), and cheesecake with raspberry coulis (again very good...I didn't expect anying spectacular since it was very basic, but I was impressed!)
I would definitely recommend The Wave for lunch. It was a nice retreat from the busy-ness of the parks. The ambience and the wait staff were wonderful, and we loved the food!
