So I was reaaaally looking forward to trying out The Wave for next summer's vacation. I was looking forward to the citrus salad and the fruit sorbets, especially. However, I was browsing the menus and it looks as if the menus may have changed. I realize that the menu changes with America's preferences, but does anyone know:

How often does the menu change?

Also, how is the atmosphere? We really want this vacation to be special and atmosphere is important.

I really am looking forward to the salad with orange vinaigrette and sorbet and complimentary bread, but if the atmosphere isn't worth it, is there another restaurant that serves that food? I really would like an orange vinaigrette as we are in FLORIDA!!!

There isn't a lot of atmosphere to speak of at the Wave. It's a regular restaurant with modern-ish decor. I am not quite sure what kind of atmosphere you were looking for.

i haven't been to the wave but we have it booked for lunch on our november trip. i've read that the menu changes seasonally but i'm sure there are some items that stay on there year round.

have you looked at citricos or flying fish. i've eaten at both on several occasions and they both have fresh options, a good atmosphere and really good service.

for atmosphere and food i'd also look at california grill, although service can be hit or miss at times imo.

blue zoo and shula's are also really good for food and atmosphere but aren't on the dining plan so i don't know if that makes a difference to you.

great for atmosphere/theme but not so great for food (again imo) are sci fi, crt, coral reef, planet hollywood, trex, rainforest cafe.

The atmosphere is boring IMO. Definately not 'special'. On the other hand, the lounge is awesome! As for the food. We have found that the menu changes alot. We are kinda picky and have decided not to try it again. But we do plan to go to the lounge again!

The atmosphere is "meh." Darkish, can be rather loud. Tables close together. I like the food a lot (and I am a food snob). Service is highly variable.
