I just made reservations for Easter Sunday at the Wave. I was excited to get a 5:45 dinner reservation at this new restaurant. After looking at the menu and then reading that they serve "healthy" cuisine, I'm a little concerned. I don't want "healthy" on my vacation, I have been dieting for 3 straight months in preperation for our trip. I'm looking to go to Disney and be able to splurge on enjoyable anything I want cuisine. I especially don't want "healthy" on Easter Sunday. What are some of the opinions of people that have eaten there?

Here is a recent review by MickeyNicki (you'll have to scroll until you find the Wave). They liked it so much that they are going back for their June trip. We love her reviews and we've gone to several places she has recommended and we've never been disappointed:

It was really, really good. REALLY good. It's Easter,I'd go with the lamb shank. That puppy was 22 oz, and the lentils were to die for. So tasty.

We loved the Wave... And seriously, "healthy" means the cocktails include organic mango juice with the booze, lol. "healthy" means the salad has organic lettuce, and the salt on the butter is irish sea salt. Things are "infused" and such...it's all about "healthy" New-Age buzzwords on the menu...but it's wonderful delicious, decadent Disney indulgence. C'mon, you can have a chocolate shake as your beverage on the DDP...is that what you'd consider "healthy" (well, guess you could say it's "milk":lmao: ) Anyway, here's a link to my review, complete with pictures (including my "organic" glow-cocktail, and hubby's organic beer flight...post #36

Oh man the Wave....it was to die for! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Glad to hear the great dining reviews for the wave. My DH & I are eating there this weekend!

It is "healthy" if you want it to be, but I think a better term would be conscious or aware. They are doing a lot of the trendy things - organic foods, sustainable fish, locally grown, etc - but the food is still prepared by a chef who knows what they are doing. Besides, why does healthy have to equal bland or not incredibly yummy? It doesn't - we eat "healthy" at home all the time - lots of organic foods, a bit of calorie counting, keeping sodium and fat counts low - and we eat great meals every day of the week!

We had a yummy meal and I agree with what Mickey_man said- they are more Environmentally conscious than healthy exactly. Our food was quite yummy there. My husband and I eat 95% organic at home (we can't find everything) and I always think it's funny when the baggers at the grocery store say "oh you eat so healthy" and I am like uh thanks...organic butter is still butter, organic tortilla chips are still bad for you and organic ice cream isn't doing anything to clear out my arteries ;) Haha, but we we do it more for environmental reasons than our health which is bad to admit. Have fun, the milkshakes at the Wave are very yummy if you are a milkshake fan!
