We tried it last summer. The food was just fine, but seemed like a restaurant you could find in any hotel; it didn't really have a theme. We are giving it another try in April, but our kids are older. With little ones, you might be better off with a restaurant that offers more activity/characters.
My family found the Wave to be one of our favorite restaurants of our entire trip. We are dinner their twice. My 3yo son loved the pizza there more than anywhere else we ate. My husband and I both loved the filet.
Dinner was delicious. I loved the pasta with shrimp. DH had the steak. DD4 loved the bread and ate her pasta. That said, the food is great but the atmosphere is not special for kids. For kids, it is like eating in any regular nice restaurant.
It was a miss for us, 2 kids food was same as every other kids menu and our food was small portions and just average. Was at end of long park day so kids were tired so that had a little to do with it to.
I had lunch there in January. The food was tasty, but I don't think of it as a destination restaraunt. I would eat there again if I was staying at the Contemporary, but I don't think I'd go out of my way. I'm sure the kids would be fine, but there isn't anything specific to entertain them. They'd just get the normal coloring pages.
The "blue room" as my kiddos call it! My baby loved it in there, so much so, that he asked Dadda to take him over there several times during dinner, so daughter and I enjoyed a few minutes alone together. LOL! Love that blue room!
Love this restaurant! Ate there 12/30/09 and thought the food was great..beautiful decor, great server...very relaxing and yet a quick hop to MK before or after. I really enjoyed the No sugar-added dessert tio..yummy. DH liked mine better than his regular dessert. We will definitely go back this xmas trip!
DD & absolutely LOVED the Wave and can't wait to go back. Yes, the themeing is very low key but we found it relaxing and the best service on property so far. I sought out the manager to tell him what a wonderful experience we had!!
We really liked it. The food was great, it was quiet, they were very accommodating for special food requests from the kids and our server was very attentive. It was a nice relaxing lunch for us and we will be going back on our next visit.
LOVE IT!! We've had dinner here a few times and it's been great everytime. Last visit we tried breakfast there and absolutely loved it, as a matter a fact it was probably the best breakfast I've ever had at any WDW restaurant!
The theme may not be "Disneyish" but it doesn't have to be. It certainly has a CR flare especially in the waiting and bar areas.
I have a review on my website and will be adding more photos in the next day or 2. OH, and I've already made my ADRs for both breakfast and dinner here for our next visit the end of next month.
We were there last week for dinner around 7pm. The atmosphere was nice and the server was very attentive and did a great job. We had three kids between the ages of 2 and 4 and they enjoyed it. The restaurant was kind of empty with just a few families with kids. It seemed like more business people were having dinner that night. The food itself was very good.
