I'm so excited I can't even contain myself :yay::yay::yay:

We booked the Walt Disney Suite on the Wonder next year!!! I can't believe I am even saying those words. :yay::yay::yay:

Actually, my parents booked the Walt Disney Suite for my family and my parents. :yay::yay::yay: And we're going to surprise the kids. They have no idea we are even going on a cruise. We've been in both inside and out on the Wonder and inside on the Dream (never above a cat 8 - never with a balcony!). Once we get on the ship, we'll let them open the suite door and watch their expressions.

OK, so I need to know it all......perks, tips, etc etc. Did you love it? Did I mention that I am excited? Do we get to board early? I don't know a thing so any information would be so helpful and amazing!

THANKS! :dance3:

Congratulations! We stayed in the Walt Suite last year on the Wonder. There are two bedrooms and a media room, so lots of opportunities for privacy. Two and a half baths. And a pantry, so lots of storage.

Concierge has a special line you check in at and you can board as soon as boarding opens, you don't need a time. When you board, there is a concierge reception with light snacks. They review your itinerary with you. Depending on the time, we stop by there first and then go grab lunch. If we are starved, we do lunch first.

The doorbell is fun at first, especially when the kids figure out they can change what it plays. But then you get sick of it when people in the hall way "ding dong ditch" (very rude).

The verandah is very long, the width of three staterooms, so it has extra furniture. They might be able to get more if you need it (we never did). I appreciated the size, because if you have smokers next to you, you have room to move away from it (I am allergic to smoke and cannot be near it). We went on the Alaska itinerary and it was great to have the balcony on Tracy Arm day. I am a bit short, so DH stacked some of the sofa cushions on a chair to boost me up and I could see over the railing.

There is also a concierge shoreside team that helps you before you leave, answering questions and helping to book excursions and appointments. I usually do most of it myself, but they help when I have questions and can put in special dining requests. We try to get all of our requests in as early as we can, to make it easier for the ship's concierge team by avoiding last minute changes.

Concierge will drop off a snack late afternoon each day, and stop by to see how you are doing. They have a customized itinerary for you of all the activities you have signed up for.

There is a concierge reception one evening, usually during a sail-away.

If you need anything, just ask. They are very helpful.

There is a concierge tipping form you receive at the end of the cruise, just like you would for your stateroom host and dining team. There is no recommended amount. It really depends on how much you use them. Some people are making requests all the time. We have cruised a lot so we do most things ourselves. But it is sure nice when you need them (like when DH went off to CC early to get seats and took the bag with all of our KTTW cards...)

Have fun!

In addition to the above, I thought I'd tell you the bed configurations.

Master bedroom has a queen size bed.

The "library" connected to the master has a double size wall pull-down (murphy) bed. There is a pocket door (sliding so that, when open, the doors go into the wall) between the master and the library/media room with etched glass in the door....not soundproof.

The 2nd bedroom has two twin beds, and there are bunk beds above each of the twins.

Some reports say that there is a sofa sleeper...but there is NOT.

Also, there's a "pantry" or butler's kitchen, with a fridge that keeps things colder than the mini fridge in the living area, a large counter space and cabinets. We actually have used this room for luggage storage, but you can ask concierge or your stateroom host to take your bags and store them for you. They'll return them on the last day of the cruise. Generally, this was only allowed in the Walt and Roy, and they may or may not still be doing it.

The only other thing I would add is the bedroom with the twin beds has a walk in closet and the master has two sliding door closets. A lot of space - we found there was toooo much storage space. There are 4 tv's and a DVD and CD player. You can disconnect the door bell. The dining room table seats 6.

The suite is beautiful and you will have a wonderful time in it. However, When we were on in October a couple of officers rang our bell and asked if there was anything that required fixing in the suite - we hadn't said anything to anyone - but since they asked.... we pointed out that although the ship had been in dry dock just months before, the deck was all pealing and the paint on the walls was flaking off in big hunks all over the place. The beautiful wood in the livingroom was being destroyed because hinges and stops had been broken and never replaced on cabinets. Some of the furniture was broken. Perhaps they have fixed these issues by now.

Pretty much all has been said although I will mention that NOT EVEN ONCE did somebody ring our doorbell inappropriately. I guess it just depends who is on the ship with you!

WOW, WOW and WOW!

Thank you all for the information. It's wonderful. I too am a planner so will most likely plan everything in advance but it's good to know if I need some help I have someone to call.

Regarding the beds in the 2nd bedroom. Can they be pushed together to make a queen?

Also, I've heard that you can have dinner delivered from Palo. Can you also do that with a full breakfast or dinner from another restaurant one night? I can't imagine wanting to not go to the restaurant but it might be fun once. Especially having Mickey waffles in the morning.

OK, here's a crazy thought....do Mickey or Minnie ever visit the suite and tuck the kids into bed at night? I truly have no idea so I thought I'd ask.

THANK YOU AGAIN! So excited.

I do not believe the beds can be pushed together in the second bedroom and there is furniture between them toward the headboard side if I recall correctly, a desk like structure with small chair and lamps on each side.

We never had a character visit our suite (have done the Roy on all 3 ships) but once on the Wonder we returned to find a stuffed Mickey/Minnie for each of the kids propped up sitting on the main sofa with a note courtesy of our Concierge Host. They loved that.

There is also a Concierge reception with a "special guest" who will be a Disney Character that your kids will interact with in a very small group setting.

I agree, I don't think the beds can be pushed together in the second bedroom. The bunks pull out above them from the wall.

The library/media room bed is not really big enough for two adults, in my opinion. Also, it is not fully private, the doors close but have etched glass. But better than being out in the main living area like normal sofa beds.

On our cruises in concierge, the only special character access is at the concierge reception.

Each bedroom has its own bath, and the half bath is in the main area.

Lots of storage, you don't need the over the door shoe racks, etc. that are recommended for the staterooms.

If you can't find the hairdryer...look in the desk in the master bedroom. Use that plug for the hairdryer for full power...I understand that if you use the hairdryer elsewhere it seems as if it is weak.

Concierge can order in to the room from any of the main dining rooms during meal times. Concierge staff will give you menus. Category R (and S, I think) can also order dinner from Palo. We didn't order dinner from Palo, but ordered the chocolate souffle so our DS could try it before he was old enough to go to Palo.

When our children were younger, we would go with them to the main dining, and make our Palo reservation before/after it so they wouldn't have to eat alone. Although they wouldn't have minded, the dining team is used to managing young people, I just didn't want to miss any of their experience!

We ordered a hot breakfast to the room frequently, room service comes in and sets up your table with a table cloth and everything! Make sure you have some extra cash on hand for tipping.

On the last day, you can order continental breakfast only because they are busy turning the ship over for the next cruise.

There is basically no chance of a character tuck-in. We must be on the same wavelength, because we asked if that was possible in our first Royal Suite experience. The staff basically said "no" although we had the option of paying something like $1200 for a one-hour private meet-and-greet with one character in a public area. So, yes, there are limits.

We do get breakfast served almost daily to our suite. I think that is one of the bigger perks. Bear in mind, you can only get the warm breakfast (i.e. Mickey waffles, eggs benedict, etc) when the main restaurants are open (typically 8 am) and not at all on the final morning. Although on the Wonder and Magic, they will room service a cold breakfast to you if you like.
