The Walking Dead on AMC

It seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle here, but someone asked what happened to Karens asthmatic son. Is he dead? I recall the governer pretty much saying too bad, he's fighting anyway. Or am I remember wrong? Geez, I just watched that episode for the 3rd time a couple of days ago.

I wouldn't mind a Beth-Daryl hookup either, if that were to happen. I really don't think it will happen, though -- at least not for a couple of years in the story line, if ever. I had never even considered them as a possible pairing before because she seemed so young for anyone (and yet, in my mind she seemed too old for Carl). Beth won't be 17 forever, though. I mean, as soon as she is 18 she will be considered a "woman" by a lot of people.

Although she is not 17, Bradley Cooper (who I adore) is dating this 21-year-old (or maybe a 22-year-old) model who literally looks like she is 13-15 years old. Has anyone seen her? Literally, she could pass for 13-15 years old. Maybe 17 on a heavy make-up day. Bradley is 38. She looks like she should be in Teen Vogue. I love Bradley and I think he is a great catch, but I honestly can't see what he sees in this childlike model. It worries me!

I don't think Daryl Dixon will go for a 17-year-old, but if something happens to Carol or if something doesn't happen with he and Carol soon, he might go for an 18-year-old.

For some reason -- and I know this is not the popular opinion -- I am not feeling the Daryl-Carol thing right now either. At one time I was feeling it and I wanted it to happen, but it seems to be taking too long to get going for my liking. I think it is a flirtatious (especially on her side), close friendship, and I think that if anything happens to Carol he will be wrecked. They may even go so far as to finally hook up, but I think I just kind of lost interest in them as a pair for a while. Maybe if he showed an interest in someone else, or Carol got attention from another man, that would spark something to finally happen between Carol and Daryl and it would renew my interest in them.

I knew Karen would end up as a love interest for someone as soon as she ended up at the prison at the end of last season. I wonder if she may end up dead, though. I kind of feel like she is disposable.

I am feeling like this might be Rick's swan song. I don't know why. Something makes me think that Rick is on his way out this season. It's probably because he is finally laughing and joking -- and seems to be quite happy with Michonne being around -- and because Daryl is taking more of a leadership role. If a miserable Rick were to die, some people would be thinking, "Eh...he was unhappy anyway... he might as well go." But a 'happy Rick who had finally found some peace' death would be heartbreaking. I hope I'm wrong, but I feel like his time is coming up soon.

I am with you on the whole Daryl and Carol thing. I like their relationship the way it is now.

I am not so sure they will kill Rick off. I know there have been a lot of deaths of the main characters, but he is really the driving force behind everything. I think something will happen to make him stop laughing and joking, but I don't think they will kill him off. If I had to speculate I think either Carl or Judith will die at some point this season.

I assumed he was one of the ones the Governor gunned down.

That is what I thought as well, although admittedly I should have gone back and watched the last episode before the premiere last night.

I am really excited about the plot twists that seem to be in store this season!

I am totally braindead, yes I watched it for the 3rd time, LAST NIGHT! And I still didn't notice the answer.

Did you see the record ratings the show scored last night??:thumbsup2

I thought he was the one Carl shot in front of Herschel?

:scratchin:

I'm guessing that there's a problem with the water. In the previews you hear Herschel say that they lost 12 of their own, 2 murdered... that it's a risk to drink a glass of water... That could be what took Violet the pig and the kid out.

And, also in the previews, someone's feeding the walkers (my guess is the kids since they were naming the walkers and that girl was saying that they're still people). That could explain the ever increasing numbers of walkers at the fence - the ones fed aren't moving on and the new ones coming in smell the fresh food.

The kid Carl killed was named Jody, Karen's son was Noah. I don't know if the gov. killed him or not, maybe he actually got away and he'll pop back in at some point.

The do seem to be pointing us to the water the way it was dripping in the shower and such...I'm guessing from all we've seen so far we could easily assume that the virus has now become communicable and is not just something that takes hold after death.

I agree and the first one I thought about was that one little girl who was insistent that they are people...maybe a loved one that she is feeding that is yet to be killed at the fence...and there will come a time when they will need to know how to use those knives that they are being trained to do at story time...

and that poor rat....ewwww

16.1 million viewers! That's insane!

wow that is a lot...and so far for me it was the best story since the show started.

My daughters theory....the original group all are infected(remember that discussion) so when Daryl licked his fingers and shook the kids hand and then he ate...virus transferred. Kills the second round of infected vs. The first. Hmmmm

He got shot in the fight at the factory where the Gov ended up killing Daryl's brother

But everyone was already infected, not just our original group.

Only thing is that the only ones not around when the world went to pot would be Judith's age or slightly older. Anyone over the age of 2 are original survivors. In the Talking Dead, they described that scene to be like the kid was meeting "a rock star". Apparently, Daryl has been busy these past few months keeping the community stocked with fresh meat (the kid talked about the deer Daryl brought back) and EVERYONE knows who he is. :thumbsup2

I definitely did not have Daryl or Carol pegged for being in their 40s...

My boy Norman is 44. Just one month older than moi, which is what I pointed out to him when he was flirting with my 19 year old daughter. :upsidedow

OK somebody give Daryl a haircut. Loved the raining Zombies!

Oh my gosh, I think he looks SO much better with the long hair! When I was watching the earlier seasons in the marathon I kept thinking, "Man, does he just not look right with short hair!"

I assumed it was just part of the husband in that bag also, head, or head and torso maybe? The bag looked bigger the second time they showed it. yuck! Poor woman, I can't even imagine what I would ever do in that position.

My DH and I kept yelling "WHAT'S IN THE BOX??? WHAT'S IN THE BOXXX!!" LOL.

I am thinking the virus is mutating. They kept showing the one walker at the fence, and his eyes looked VERY different from all the other walkers. Not sure exactly what it's doing, but it's changing and now it's more dangerous. It appeared to be mroe than the flu that kid had, since his feet were leaving bloody footsteps and his face had blood all over it after he died. Very interesting!

I kept noticing that they were very focused on that one walker with the weird, oozing eyes. They showed him twice for an extended period of time. And when poor Phineas bit it, I was like, "OOOHHH... there is a connection!" Kirkman said that this season was going to introduce a whole new (I think it called it a "force"?) big and unexpected thing that the team would have to deal with. I was thinking at first it would be massive herds, but now I think it's some kind of swine/zombie flu. Not sure how poor Phineas got it first (the whole licking fingers thing was possibly a big hint?). He mentioned Daryl bringing in a deer and we did see a dead deer in the forest but I assumed that it was trapped and eaten by walkers. I admit I looked away - looking at dead and decaying people is one thing... but I can't stand looking at dead animals.

Wow, good catch. I just rewatched the season 4 trailer and Hershel says, "You step outside, you risk your life. You take a drink of water, you risk your life." I never caught that before and I bet I've watched it 5 times. I also just noticed that in the scenes in what appears to be a hospital or a school where there are a lot of walkers, they all have those oozy eyes. But if this is a new thing, this mutated virus (again, speculating), is just now hitting, how are there all these "new" walkers if there weren't more survivors?

And, also in the previews, someone's feeding the walkers (my guess is the kids since they were naming the walkers and that girl was saying that they're still people). That could explain the ever increasing numbers of walkers at the fence - the ones fed aren't moving on and the new ones coming in smell the fresh food.

I'm sure hoping that it's not one of the kids. That would be really sad. I was assuming that they had a traitor in their midst, but it doesn't make sense that anyone would be inside and inviting the walkers to attack where they live... on purpose.

I've heard a lot of people IRL complain about last night's episode but I thought it was great. We got character development, some backstory, lots of action, and a few moments of humor. Next week is supposed to be big... I'm hoping we don't lose any of our original crew!

Oh, and Kirkman better not kill the horse this time. I'm still getting over the first ep. I've never watched that scene and I never will.

Found this on the walkingdeadwiki site...

Following the failed prison assault in "Welcome to the Tombs", Noah's fate is unknown. It is possible he was among the townspeople murdered by The Governor out on the road, or that he never went to the prison in the first place.

Somehow the prison gets compromised. I am assuming they will be able to kill Phinneas (can I just say I giggle every time someone calls him Phineas?)

In the preview for next week, you hear a gunshot then Glenn and I think Carol run in and Glen yells to Rick, "Walkers in D block!" I don't know if Phineas the walker lets them in or what, but I am guessing there is a traitor amongst them.

Do you think other people are calling him Phineas or just us:rotfl2:?
