The Walking Dead on AMC

I see someone put this back to the top :-)

Did anyone see the still shots from Episode 1 of the new season that The Walking Dead put on Facebook, specifcally the one with Daryl and Carol??? That shot makes me absolutely giddy! I can't wait to see the context of it, but I'm sure they are messing with us by putting up that still shot.

Erika, I bumped the thread because I wasn't sure if this was the go-to thread for TWD's new season, or if there is a different thread. I haven't looked at the Facebook page to see the Daryl/Carol picture.

I never heard of the show Low Winter Sun. What is it about?

:rotfl2:I barely even know! It's a crime drama of some sort, and it features the actor who plays Morgan on The Walking Dead, as well as the actor who played Gale on Breaking Bad.

I don't know of anyone who is watching Low Winter Sun because the only shows that anyone really cares about on AMC are Mad Men, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead. There were a lot of fans of The Killing too. LWS may find a following in the future, but right now it just kind of gets lost in the shuffle of all of the popular shows on AMC.

Nice to see this thread is still going strong. Can't wait for the new season to start.

I got some great WD related news a few days ago. My Brother and SIL, who live in Austin and are huge WD fans, called to invite me to a watch party they are having for the season premier. I had to decline as I had other plans for earlier that day. I did tell him I would be trying to make it to Austin Comic Con and they are having s few of the WD cast on hand.

My Brother told me they were definitely planning on going as one of his good friends knows Norman Reedus and will actually be working as one of his assistants that weekend. He told my Brother that a private meet and greet should be a possibility :cool1:

LWS just isn't up to AMC standards. I don't think it is getting lost in the shuffle; I think it is failing to live up to expectations, and I don't expect it'll last much longer. I wanted to like it... It is set and shot in my hometown (Detroit) and I would love to see something set here really take off, but it just isn't of the same quality of AMC's recent hits and I really haven't been able to get into it at all.

Did anyone see the webisode (sp?) yet? I have it posted on my Facebook and will be watching soon.:cool1:

Oh, Low Winter Sun. I refuse to watch it on principle, because I dislike AMC's attempts at trying to trick people into watching it! Back when it first debuted after BrBa, they would be all, "Oh, you can catch scenes from the next episode of Breaking Bad...in the middle of Low Winter Sun!" One time they actually tricked my DVR into recording an entire episode of LWS by pretending that there were two hours of new BrBa instead of one!

Diznygirl -

Oh I hated that! As I mentioned on the previous page, Low Winter Sun incurred the wrath of the Breaking Bad fans (like myself) who were starved for 2 seconds of teasers for the next week's show, and LWS also stood in between BrBa and Talking Bad up until this past Sunday. That made me so mad. While I am thinking about BrBa I want to watch Talking Bad -- not one hour later when I have already moved on to another thought.

They also tricked us into thinking that LWS would be a great show because it has "Morgan" from TWD and "Gale" from BrBa! They figured they'd capitalize on the success of TWD and BrBa by using two of the actors. In fact, is anyone who used to be on Mad Men on the show too? I wouldn't be shocked.

From what Colleen27 explained above, it sounds as if LWS is just an inferior show, as well as being a hurdle to jump in order to get to the shows we really want to see! I was looking at this coming Sunday's schedule on AMC, wondering why on earth The Walking Dead premiere couldn't fit into the schedule on that night. I was horrified to see that, once again, Low Winter Sun standing in the way of the show I want to see! Just because the LWS season finale is airing this Sunday doesn't mean that TWD couldn't have premiered its new season too!

AMC is going to see a big drop in ratings for this Sunday night's LWS season finale, in comparison to the big numbers they saw for the BrBa series finale. And then, when TWD starts up on 10/13, the ratings will soar.

I saw the Caryl picture. I think at this point they will just tease us forever and ever with a possible relationship between those two.

Saw the webisodes. SO that was the hospital Rick woke up in? And that dude ended up going all Michonne.

I am also looking into my crystal ball and predicting that the next character deaths will be Karen and Sasha. Mostly because if any of the main characters get killed off this season, I don't know if I can handle it.

I got this hoodie at NY Comic Con today. :cool1:

They just announced at the Walking Dead panel that Michael Cudlitz will be playing Abraham in season 4. Brought him out on stage to introduce him. Loved that character in the comics, glad to see him joining the show.

Can't wait for tomorrow!

I just got my Daryl Dies We Riot tshirt out of the closet for tomorrow :-). Our cupcake shop is selling walking dead cupcakes tomorrow too. Do you think I will have to tell them what cupcakes I want if I walk in wearing that?

We caught a few episodes last night and within 3 minutes we were reminded of how annoying Andrea was.

Can't wait!

Potential spoiler but it was during an interview

Daryl mentioned he has a love interest this season.

DH is very psyched about Abraham - thank you so much for sharing this news! I have never read the comic but he's a big fan.

Me? I love the show and can't wait for tonight!

And Daryl's love interest is maybe hinted at in the preview released at San Diego Comic Con. You see Daryl share a moment with Hershel's youngest DD ... ew. Daryl, stick with Carol!!!

I love that hoodie!

I'm going to be hiding from this thread tonight and tomorrow until I can watch the show. After counting down for months to TWD return, MLB had to go and schedule game two of the pennant series opposite the premier! And when it comes down to which to DVR, watching my Tigers live trumps TWD every time.

I never thought this day would come!!!!

Daryl how I have missed you!!!!!!! :flower3:
