The walking dead amc #2

One thing I was confused about was when the wolves made the guy in the red poncho go into the gated area where all the walkers were. Was it just to watch him die? When they opened the backs of the trucks, he had some kind of remote or something? What was that? Then there were flashes inside the truck? I was confused.

Also, one other thing some cast member said besides the box of tissues was that "someone will not be who they appear to be and it will pi** you off." I think the guy who plays Abraham said that. What did he mean? Maybe the guy who lead Glenn out to kill him, but we already hated him. LOL.

The flashing lights and music in the trucks was to get the walkers back in there. That was the trap they use to get people in the car and stuck (just like Darryl and Aaron did). They open one truck door and it unleashes all the walkers. So after Darryl and Aaron got away, they had to reset the trap. I'm still not sure how the guy in the red poncho fits into it all though. We re-winded it a couple of times to see if it was someone we had seen before.

I think the guy in the red poncho was just there to show you how/what the wolves are doing. I don't believe he had any significance. I think he was symbolic though if you think about it. Person in a red poncho getting killed by the wolves.... Little Red Riding Hood :)

As as side note, I thought the Finale was excellent. Basically you saw that the entire group will do whatever it takes to survive but they aren't ruthless. They aren't savages and they have compassion for others but they will not let others put them in danger. I'm glad that a major character didn't die.

I think all those walkers that were in the trailers were, at one time, living people that the Wolves found and killed. They then put them into that fenced in area and when they turned to zombies, they were able to corral them into the trailers with the flashing lights and music. The remote was to turn on the music from outside the fence. But I don't think there's any other safe way the two guys from the Wolves could have gotten all those zombies into the fenced in area for that purpose, unless they kidnapped and killed living people first like red poncho guy and like they tried to do with Morgan. I think the only purpose of red poncho guy was just to show this.

My question is, what purpose does the trap serve? Why do they want to trap people and have them eaten anyway? Best I've come up with is so they can raid their pockets and any bags they have, but seems like there's a better way or a better reason for trapping people.

Very interesting way to look at it!!!

A couple of thoughts:

I can't believe Darryl fell for the booby trap on the trucks. Didn't the cans hanging down the sides give him any clues. The whole thing screamed set up to me.

I wonder what's going to happen when Rick wants to stab Deanna's husband in the head before he turns. Not sure they know yet about that. I was kind of waiting for that scene to play out last night.

I'm sure Morgan hasn't been through half the cr*p Rick and Co have. He's been traveling by himself and able to avoid most of the troublesome groups. Hopefully if they catch him up on what's been going on he'll understand a bit better what has led to all the chaos.

Lastly, I realize it's a zombie apocalypse and all, but I just don't get people wanting to turn other people into zombies. There's a limited amount of humans left on the planet, you'd think they would want to save as many as possible. At least turn them into slaves or something at least.

I loved loved loved how she said "now" to Rick and that's all he needed. One turn and bang. It was a powerful moment in the show for me! It showed him as a true leader, one that is selfless and respects authority. He had many chances to kill Pete but chose not to for the sake of the others until their leader said it was ok to.

Oh my gosh, the episode was brilliant! Thought Glenn might be getting the chop but thankfully he survived, along with Daryl.

It's going to be interesting how they contrast Rick and Morgan: Rick, who thinks it's better to kill someone instead of sparing them, allowing them the potential to come back and hurt you and/or others, because that's how "civilization" survives now; and Morgan, who thinks every life is precious no matter who they are, but inadvertently got Red Poncho guy killed, and let the Wolves find out about Alexandria (were they the ones banished?), and in particularly, let the Wolves find out about Rick and Carl from a photo.

October seems a long way away!

I was also surprised that they fell for the trap. You would think they would have heard the walkers in the trucks. Walkers are not silent, they hiss and moan and crash and bang into things. You would think they would be banging around in the trucks hitting the sides, and banging to get out while hissing etc.

Has someone else asked yet about the focus on the missing license plate on the one truck? Aaron was psyched about finding one that said Alaska and then the next truck had a missing license. My first thought was, "Aaron has been here before?" So what was up with that>

And I'm assuming that Porch **** was shot in the head and wouldn't need to be stabbed.

I missed that!! I was too distracted by the fact that they didn't realize it was a trap! But I hate to believe that Aaron is evil-that would make me so sad!

Daryl noticed the missing plate. They lingered on it like it was supposed to mean something. But I just couldn't put it together..

I thought I'd post this for those that didn't get the chance to watch The Talking Dead last night -
http://www.ew.com/article/2015/03/29/walking-dead-showrunner-scott-m-gimple-teases-next-season

"On Sunday night’s Talking Dead, host Chris Hardwick read a note from Gimple that teased what was to come in season 6. And the note read as follows:

“Season 6 for a good while now, humans have been the bigger threat. At the start of our next season, that will change. I said the show reinvents itself every 8 eps, and we’re doing it again, friendos. Now that these characters know they have what it takes to survive, what are they going to do with that power? How will they choose to live? Beyond answering those questions, we’re currently putting into motion some of our most ambitious stuff yet, and things are going to get very big, loud and scary.”

Deanna's husband was sliced in the throat by porch ****, so he would need to be stabbed in the head.

Before they slit his throat didn't they say "Welcome Home"? It led me to believe he was apart of the wolves and he had messed up somehow.

Yes, they did tell Red Poncho Guy "Welcome Home" before slitting his throat. I don't think RPG is a part of the Wolves. They just caught him (almost like they tried to do with Morgan in the beginning), killed him and will let him turn. Then they'll carve a "W" into his forehead and RPG ends up in the back of the semi with the rest of them....hence "Home".

So...let me get this straight...

Morgan is a ninja. And he learned his shaolin monk moves at what dojo? It isn't exactly something you can learn on your own to the level of "Kung_fu: the legend continues" that he showed...

Nobody died. NOBODY died. Whats-his-name Deanna's husband doesn't count.

Father Gabriel wants to die. Too much a weiner to kill himself though, so he was throwing others under the bus to lessen his own guilt?

Rick is scary...almost Governor-like, but CAROL is scarier. She totally wound up the husband so he'd snap at the meeting.

WHat the deuce was the point of that trap the wolves set?? What was the point of killing the red poncho guy and sticking him in there. Pointless.

Still, a great episode, if a bit anti-climactic.

Did anyone notice that Michonne's katana had blood on it, before Pete (aka: PD) even slashed Reg's throat?

This makes me nervous. Carl (who they won't kill off), Judith, Rosita, and Tara were not at the "meeting". Do we think PD could have killed one of them before going to the meeting? And that is how they will open Season 6?

My take on the red poncho guy was that he was the smokescreen zombie walking around the trucks to make people think that the food trucks hadn't yet been looted yet. When Darryl got to the fence there were a few zombies outside that they easily killed and that made them think the food trucks were full. They killed him so that he could lure other people into thinking the same thing.
