The wait AFTER the wait

I thought the wait to hear from Disney regarding whether or not I was accepted in the CP was painful...the wait for the day I get on that plane and take off for Orlando is even MORE torturous! I have a month left and I'm already losing my mind.

I've been listening to Disney music, reading the DIS like it's my job, made a list of what to bring, been playing Disney music on the piano, and I've been driving my family and friends nuts by talking about the program. What are you guys doing to keep the excitement at a healthy level of containment? lol.

Oh yeah. I don't know which is worse- the wait til the letter comes, or the wait until you get to leave for Disney (probably the second one). I would say that for me, some things I did while I was waiting for Disney included writing in my blog, posting on my Disney message boards and Facebook, listened to Disney music, watched Disney movies, and towards the end just started getting ready to leave. Hang in there. It will go by soon.

Ooh I like the idea of a blog. I think I might start a blog for the program! Lol, I'll have a place to direct all my Disney excitement, hehe.

I feel like its the last stretch of the wait thats the worst. I got accepted in September then had school to distract me. Since I was living in Orlando for school, it was pretty easy to quell the anxiousness just by driving over to the parks for a day. Now that I came home for christmas break I'm going crazy! I'm stuck in south Florida till the 5th and I might go insane before then.

I'm just happy that I had Thanksgiving to look forward to and now I have Christmas to focus on. I guess New Yeards is after that but then what?!?!? I am driving so I get to leave a few days before but STILL! I am not patient haha

I would love to have had the chance to visit the parks for a day! lol. I'm in MA so I am only able to look at pictures and build up my excitement even more haha. I was accepted in September as well so up until now, school has provided me with enough distractions...now I'm home, no employment (I wanted to enjoy home before leaving it for nearly 8 months lol), and hardly anything to do in this town...so my distractions are decreasing! Thank god it's only a month though lol.

It also doesn't help that we have over a foot of snow on the ground brought in by yesterday's and today's storm. I am not a fan of snow haha.

Neither am I! That is one reason why I am moving to FL.

Nice! I would love to move down to FL. I will someday, lol. I would so much rather take 90 degree humid weather over this stuff we get in New England.

When are you leaving? I know for me I have 26 days left...and that's killing me lol. Now that Christmas is over...I really don't have anything to take my mind off of it! hehe. Little does Disney know that they will be receiving a bunch of crazy New Englanders who couldn't stand the wait in this cold weather! hehe.

My sister is the same way...lol...we leave in a week to take her down for the college program and she is just going nuts packing and getting ready.

I am an Alumnus of the program (Fall 2006), now I will be a Campus Rep at my college during the spring semester, and I understand everything that you guys are feeling. I during the time that I was waiting to leave, I downloaded park videos and learned little known facts about WDW so that by the time i got down there and did TRADITIONS, I would know more than most of the other people arriving. If you really love WDW like I do, you may get a little teary eyed from watching some of the inspirational videos in Traditions. Also the more you know about the parks, the better you will fit right in with the other CP's and full-timers.

Oh one more thing, you may get a case of Disneyitis, after you leave the program, I thought about extending my program, but I had to get back to school. It got so bad that some nights I used to (and still do sometimes) play SpectroMagic at 9pm and Wishes at 10pm at home (since I used to work in the Magic Kingdom), just to get the feel of being back in The World.

I'm the same way with some of that...only I haven't even started the program yet! I've always been a huge Disney person - and I don't mind admitting this on a Disney board haha - and so for years now I have been watching Disney videos on Youtube and other sites, watching attraction pre-shows, visiting Disney websites, reading trip reports, expanding my knowledge of crazy facts that no one cares about (ex: the MK produces over 115lbs of lint from the laundry each day lol) and reading books on Disney Trivia. I can't even count how many books of Disney trivia we have in the house. We also have the SpectroMagic CD and the Wishes CD and I'll occasionally listen to those. I would listen to Live365 (Disney stations of course) and I have over 300 tracks of just park music alone on my iTunes that I would play through on shuffle. My favorite track would have to be the hour MK area music. lol. I would read all this and listen to this music just to cure myself from missing our WDW vacations. lol.

Recently, I've been watching live streaming from the Polynesian (Wishes at 9, hehe).

I have 21 days (not counting the day of) until I leave for FL for the CP. I've started a packing pile and I can't wait!!

I leave on the 17th to arrive by the 21st. We are going to spend a day at pop century before check in. I've tried to pick up as many work shifts as possible not only because I depleated all of my saving on christmas (oh no) but so that I can take my mind off of everything for 6 or 8 hours haha. But it is only getting worse....3 more weeks!

Then it's about just under 2 weeks of insanity! lol.

I'm going absolutely crazy. People began check in yesterday and I SO wish that was me right now. 14 days!!

Lol I have been trying to do little things every day for the trip to help me get along. I think I am going to try to go to the mall today and get sneakers or something. I needto be distracted haha. Thank goodness for this board though because atleast I know everyone else is insane too. LOL
