The Voice: Season 2 Official Thread

Anyone else having problems voting? It all comes up busy so far, except that terrible country singer who went first. Of course I tried and now she has one accidental vote from me lol

I think Christina is on some kind of a power trip and wanted to show her team who's boss. No way Jesse should have gone home tonight. And her outfit tonight--hideous and VERY unflattering. I never cared for her much, but I'm starting to really dislike her.

I HATE the last-second rule change/instant elimination. I think it's ridiculous to just keep making up the rules as you go along and to not give the audience proper say in who goes home/stays. I can't even bring myself to vote, because I feel like it doesn't really matter.

Rae Lynn was much better tonight (due to better song choice), but she sounded horrible on "Heartache Tonight." She has absolutely no range.

I hope Juliet wins it all; I think she's the best artist left.

I fell asleep and missed the end :sad2:

I said it last week, I have zero trust in the voting system on this show. It's obvious America has no say at all, they will push through who they want to win.

Christina looked ridiculous, but what do you expect, it has to be all about her.

I think Blake is drunk half the time.

Sorry, but I don't get all the love of Adam? I don't find him sexy at all, too much falsetto.

I wasn't going to watch this week. Now that I know RaeLyn is still there (I think she reminds Blake of Miranda when she was younger) and Jesse went home - I'm done!

As for Tony, he is the sweetest person and I think he should stay on Broadway. I know that's not what he wants to keep doing, but seeing him perform live is a whole different experience from watching him on TV. He had shaved half his head for the role in American Idiot, guess he had to go all the way before letting it grow again? He really is adorable!

what? just? happened?

those two judges are crazy.

Lindsay was TERRIBLE tonight. TERRIBLE. i don't love Jesse, but i don't think he deserved to go home. he and Ashley completely rocked "Stronger" too.

I think Lindsay got a pass due to the sucess of her first song on itunes.
Her perormance yesterday was dreadful.

Something's rotten in Denmark. Even people who don't like Jesse were shocked at his elimination. He's been steady throughout the competition, was one of the favorites to win and the judges were hard pressed to say anything bad about him. Were the rules changed just so he could be eliminated? Why?

Will Christina be back next season? Who in the worlsd would pick her to be their coach after this baffling elimination? How many people did it take to peel off that awful outfit of hers?

It's so sad because I stopped watching Idol and thought this should would be a big step up from that. I'm starting to believe all these shows are fixed and we're just being taken for a ride. Don't get me started on Dancing with the Stars :rolleyes1

I'm a big fan of Lindsay's and I have to agree with you. If I was judging soley on last nights performances then she should have gone home. However I think they are probably taking into account other things. I think Lindsay has something unique about her, you know its her. To me Jesse and Ashley sound like every other singer on the radio, they may sing well but they don't really don't have anything special IMO that makes them stand out. I don't even know the other guy on the team, I think its the opera guy, so enough said  My guess about Christina is that she wants someone with a unique quality in her final because the other coaches have their own unique singers, except for Blake. I don't know what he is doing, he is like that last puzzle piece that just doesn't fit with the others.

Raelynn stomps around, sings, dresses and acts like a toddler. i just don't get it. she sounds like Shirley Temple. as a child. she even DRESSES like Shirley Temple. it's baffling.

i just peeked on Twitter (i don't follow Twitter normally) and a lot of people were upset about Jesse. i kind of get Blake's reasoning for letting Jordis go (not that i agree with him, but i get it). but Christina's made no sense.

and i wish she'd make the group sing about THEM. it's always about her. how exhausting to be so stuck on yourself.

I'm glad I live in NYC, because I will get to see Tony Vincent the next time he's in a Broadway show! :)

Last night beats me. I think Blake likes RaeLynn because she reminds him of a younger Miranda Lambert. He even said as much on one show. I can't stand her, but unfortunately the country music fans love their princesses. I'm sure she'll get a record deal from this, have minor success and end up having a career like Kelle Pickler. Always an opening act, never a headliner.

It amuses me that Chris Mann sings with an Italian accent. I understand that's his training, but I still smile when he starts singing. I think he has a good voice, but I think he maimed Viva La Vida. He really didn't even follow Christina's advice on the chorus (go for the high notes), which probably would have sounded better Also, what was with the "Addicted to Love" girls on the violas?

Don't agree with the eliminations. I don't know what the coaches are aiming for, but what's left is not their best talent.

I thought the whole point of the show was to find the best voice, not the one with potential. Blake should have listened to the play back of his group sing and noticed that after Jordis - that Raelynn whatever girl could not even sing on key! What a stupid stupid stupid move. But at least his performance was not his own song.

Christina - what the heck are you thinking? Did you not look in the mirror? Good lord, someone needs to slap you upside the head, girl!!
And could you please not talk on and on....you let the wrong person go!!

I am hoping that they decide this elimination thing is stupid - cause it is!
Go Team Adam!!!

Pretty much everyone sounded like garbage last night. It was painful to listen to. Jesse was among the worst and deserved the boot.

Well, like pretty much everyone else I'm surprised at who went home. I thought Jesse was one of the best. Last night they completely set him up to fail. Really? Beyonce? Come on Christina, he tried to "make the song his own", but it was way too high for him (as it would be for most men).

They've picked some equally lousy songs for some of the other contestants too. Tony was also set up to fail.

I'm starting to think this last minute "instant elimination" was manufactured to send someone in particular home ASAP. Maybe Jordis, but more likely Jesse as his elimination was more surprising. Although Jordis's reaction to her name being called (another word for doo-doo), has me wondering if something came out about her.

My, oh my I feel like a conspiracy theorist!! :rotfl2:
But seriously, it makes you wonder.:confused3

Wonder if Christina is "feeling the hate" on The Voice FB page. Lots of anger over there! Most people are shocked and disgusted that Jesse was eliminated, even those who aren't fans of his. There's also a LOT of criticism of Christina's performance (monopolizing the number and refusing to showcase her team) and especially the "outfit" (one person called her an overstuffed sausage--ITA). It's a whole lotta Christina hatin' and a whole lotta Jesse lovin' over there, and many people say they're done watching the show.

Read a few reviews of last night's show and the columnists were also shocked. Seems like Jesse-gate has become a pretty big controversy and will adversely affect viewership. I wonder if they'll address it on the show tonight. Here would be a fun scenario--yet another rule change, where each judge can add to their team a singer cut by another judge. Or better yet, let the audience cast votes for 4 performers to return, and the top four vote getters get to pick a new mentor (with the top vote getter getting first pick).

Oh well, just trying to find a way to salvage this season. It really started off fun but I'm not enjoying it any more. Maybe I'll come back next year when they find another judge to replace Christina.

I'm not normally a conspiracy theory kind of person, but I'm pretty suspicious of the new instant elimination rule and the choices made by the judges last night.

I noticed Jordis' "Oh s**t" reaction. The cussing doesn't bother me, but I thought she could have handled being cut with a little more grace. She was obviously, truly shocked about being eliminated.

They love acknowledging social media so if they don't mention it I'll know it's bs.

I think people remarked more on this than the AI Jessica saved. It's just now not a good week to have a name that starts with JESS.

They gave the judges a freebie in the last round by giving them a "save". They took it back this week by making them eliminate an "extra". I saw this coming from Saturn.

Xtina should be slapped for ditching Jesse, and Blake is a wuss for taking the easy way out and ditching Jordis. RaeLynn has WAY over stayed her welcome.

Best line about the special announcement tonight on the Voice (FB)

The special announcement better be that you're bringing Jesse back, sending Raelynn home, and Justin Beiber is retiring.

Or I ain't watchin'! *hmmph!

:lmao::rotfl:

There is going to be a sing off between raylynn and erin wanna bet who Blake is going to save?

you know. it irritates me that the judges basically get to choose TWO and the actual votes only chose ONE.

and please, Raelynn will go through. can we please get rid of her? please?
