The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Owners & Lovers Group - 3.0

Catching up on this thread. My family was there Sat-Wednesday. We had Oogie Boogie tix for Sunday and then the MMB 3 day park tickets with LL for Monday-Wed. I hope they have the MMB tix again next year because when I did a price comparison, they were cheaper than the Costco tix. That might be the way to go for DVC members if the tix are still offered as long as members don’t mind that the tickets are only valid for weekdays.

This was the first time we didn’t get the park hoppers and I don’t regret it at all, especially based on what Astro posted. We were able to enjoy everything in the park and got to see WOC and Paint the Night Parade. I will miss early entry, though.

We used the MMB tickets this past week and I agree, definitely a good deal. I priced them against the Costco tickets and they were still cheaper.
The no weekends makes the MMB a dealbreaker for most people, including myself. The Costco deal was better value even if MMB was cheaper. The dining card came with it and also LLMP and hopping. The most valuable part of the Costco deal was you could split the 3 days. I am using 1 day in October and 2 days in December from the Costco deal.

For sure - everyone’s situation is different and I wouldn’t have purchased them if I had to split up the days. For my situation, it was cheaper. But I totally see your point.

💩 way to end a trip. :(
I actually chose to be grateful for the time I had the magical PP entrance while staying at VGC, for EE at DCA over by the small rides when it was nearly empty and so could ride silly swings with my youngest 4-5x in a row together without having to get off the ride, and for the cast members who greeted me with a smile and wished me a magical day.

It was still a nice morning walk and way to stretch the legs before heading out to the airport.

This doesn’t change my thoughts that we will not be going back to Disneyland in October ever again and that we will not be renewing our MKs….. but I tried to find the good in the morning and not dwell on the negative.

(It doesn’t hurt that I went to the USC game yesterday and watched them beat Michigan 🥳)

I would love to see stats on what percentage of MK holders purchase LLMP. For those of us who are local, I think it is very low.

We are top tier AP holders who buy MK about 95% of our visits—my husband would riot and refuse to go if he had to spend 6 hours in line each day— yes, we are a bit spoiled but we both have (different) physical health challenges that are exacerbated by being on our feet standing around.

It may well be low overall, but it wouldn’t surprise me if the people buying a lot of their highest tier passes, most expensive merch, sit down dining, extra events, upsell experiences, etc. just the generally price insensitive Disney-obsessed consumers are annual pass holders who are always buying LLMP.

Disney has been sticking it to its superfans on and off for almost 5 years now with a lot more sticks than carrots. Not sure how much longer that will work, but I’m on a Disney cruise right now instead of WDW, so evidently at least a bit longer?

I am a local MP and I buy MPLL if I am coming all day. I no longer qualify for DAS and there is only so long I can handle the lines before I start having some issues. So I self accommodate with purchasing MPLL. Now if I do not arrive until late afternoon and stay late, I skip the LL as so many of the rides are sold out of LL. I just ride what I find with short(ish) waits. It was pretty nice on Saturday evenings during the summer.

I’ve been going on this weekend for MANY years and the LLMP has never sold out at Disneyland.
@AstroBlasters I know you are on your way home. Did you see these comments in the other thread?

I did not.

We go down for our October break quite often and I usually have a MK and the fam has day tickets with LL. I have never not been able to purchase a LL as a MK holder as soon as I scan into the park in the morning.

I also think this is the first time I recall them doing such a big push with discounted tickets that include LL during a traditionally busy time of year.
