I don't even know who my guide is. I've had several. They seem to regenerate as quickly as The Doctor.

Let me know if you want to try my guide. She got me points about a month ago. I gave her info to another Disboarder and she got them points in just a couple weeks or less. When a guide tells you there aren't any points, what they are really saying is, "I don't want to search for you every day."

My Guide was able to get us direct points as well. Would be happy to pass info along.

Something similar happened to us years back... we wanted to add on but our guide was on a long vacation and the fellow that we were given was trying to do a hard sell for one of the resorts that had brand new inventory. I explained firmly that it wouldn't work for me as I wanted to be able to book at 11 months and asked to be placed on a 'wait list' ... he would not help me! I called back a few weeks later when our guide was in, and let him know what happened and he sounded shocked and went right to bat for us; said that officially there was no longer a wait list put us on an 'existing customer wait list' and asked us to be patient and I think we had points, fully loaded, within a week's time. I suspected that they weren't as incentivized for the guides, but I have no idea. (My guide has since retired but he was quite the guy).

I know it sounds insane and it absolutely is. However, there's a sense of security knowing that those points can be used to book VDH if you can't get VGC. I think I would feel differently if resale could be had for $200 or less per point, but that's not going to happen.

Can't do a whole lot with just 50 direct. But I suppose if they are being added onto other direct points, it makes sense.

We have no direct. So to me, it wouldn't be very wise to buy 50 direct at VGC prices.
