Thanks! I had looked at that thread a while back and must have missed those pics. The little patio area looks nice. Though I feel like the rooms facing the pool area aren't my favorite. I bet it's harder to get the studios on the other side though.

Your chances are as good as anyone else’s. Make your request and expect the worst, but hope for the best. It is the way

We were just on the hotel side in February and at check-in I asked for a lower floor (in case our son was too afraid of the elevators) and a 'quiet' area. I had no idea where it might be quiet so that was as specific as I got. But I know with villas, there just aren't many so I'm wondering about how specific we need to be with requests and when.

Via chat with MS after you make your reservation. The request will stay with your reservation number.

Requests are made in advance with DVC Member Services. My preference is to use the secure email through the DVC website, with a list of specific villa numbers.

If anyone is going soon and will be in a studio villa...can you take a picture of the couch pulled out? Specifically to see the current state of the mattress? Just curious how bad they are. I've seen some videos online but it was hard to tell what the thickness was or just how old they are looking.

I'd love to know this as well. We're going in June and I don't know if the pull out couch in the 1 bdrm is going to be too uncomfortable for my mom to sleep on? She's in her mid 60's.

Hopefully, someone can post a picture for you. I would say the mattress is maybe half the thickness of the mattress on the main bed. My 14 year old son slept on it and said it was very uncomfortable. I laid on it and thought it wasn’t that bad… bad yes… but not the worst I’ve slept on.

I seem to remember reading (or hearing on a podcast) that your can ask hospitality for a mattress pad, but I don’t know if it’s actually an option here.

At 11months out is possible to find availability or is it like chasing the club house at Jambo/or the standards at BLT? (Almost impossible even at the 11ms right o’clock)

VGC is usually easy to book for all room types, including Studios. You can sleep in a bit and not be at risk of missing out. Most of the year you can even forget to book for a few days/weeks without issue.

Exceptions: early December and race weekend(s). Early December is competitive, right at 5a/8a. Race weekends need to be walked. (pending whatever impact VDH has to VGC)

I haven’t had any issues booking what I want at 11 months. Race weekend was taken immediately.

Online booking opens 8 AM Eastern for everyone, so as long as you’re up before 7 AM Central, you’re good!

(Sorry, I don’t know VGC booking for December.)

Yes. No need to count number of days! To book a stay with checkin on June 10, you can book at 8 AM on July 10.

Studios go very fast in early December; other villas are not a problem.
