The Villages in Fla is this a city?

I was looking on Restaurant .com and saw a deal for a restaurant in The Villages FLA ...this is the name of the city. I went on line and saw lots of great restaurants etc. I was just wondering what exactly it is and where it is. We were looking at a restaurant called Amelia's. Is it far from Orlando?

The Villages is a retirement community that's near Lady Lake, Florida. It's just off Route 27 about 60 miles or so northwest of the Disney area (maybe 20 or 25 miles south of Ocala).

MY BIL and Sister just moved there last week. I am flying into Orlando tomorrow and my BIL will pick me up at MCO and take me to "The Villages, FL
I am staying a week to visit the new house.
I got the Restaurant.com special code yesterday, and purchased a certificate for Amelia's to use during my visit. It is a long way (over 1 hour) from DisneyWorld, its a gigantic adult community in the farmlands between
Orlando, Ocala and Tampa. Not an easy drive if you are not familiar with the roads.
The code was FLAG, $2.00 for a $25.00 certificate on restaurant.com.
