The View?

I am thinking about adding two days to hubby and my upcoming December trip. I wanted to do something a little extra so I was thinking of booking the main building club level at the GF. My question is which view should I book? The difference between standard and theme park view is about 170.00.

Is the TPV that much better? Will we be able to see Cinderella's Castle? If so is it a good view or a tiny blob in the distance? This is a treat so I don't mind spending the extra but I don't want to walk into the room and go "I paid extra for that?"

In my opinion its not just about seeing the castle from the view. I think the whole, uninterrupted view is what makes it that much more special. If the $170 doesn't break the bank for the trip, I would do it.

I agree with the pp. If the extra cash does not take away from something else than you should go for. I have stayed at BLT with a TPV and it was amazing.

$170? I would in a heartbeat if I had the additional money. We stayed TPV at the Grand, gazing right at Cinderella Castle. It was stunning. As a previous poster said, the view itself is gorgeous, and to be honest, the monorail sliding along it's rail only added to that view.

We stayed TPV at the Poly for a kids free trip last October. I would have happily sat on that balcony and looked at the castle and watched the boats and monorail all day long, but we figured we ought to actually go to the parks some. ;) Not exactly the same view, but totally worth it, IMO!

Just a thought since you said it's you and hubby -- we've done a few trips that were main building standard view, and few main building theme park view, but by FAR the best have been main building king! We've been lucky enough to get the top turret room on the front entry side of the resort each time, and it's an amazing room! You don't see the castle, but we enjoyed watching the monorail arrive from the Poly and depart the Grand, and in my opinion the wow factor of the room and all of the windows exceeded the theme park view we've had previously. Something else to think about! :)

The King rooms at RPC are all excellent!!! Some are as Ms tom morrow said and others are just over Gasparilla's with a TPV! Both room types are wonderful!

We stayed in a King room in RPC and had a direct view of the castle. If you book a category with theme park view and want a view of the castle, you need to request it, though it's not guaranteed you will get it. If you book a TPV room and expect a direct view of the castle, you may be disappointed. There's a reason it's called "Theme Park View" and not "Castle View". As long as you know going in that you may only get a view of the "theme park", you'll be fine.

I was TPV in Boca Chica and as pp have noted -- it isn't just the castle -- having morning coffee watching the MK wake up, listening to the boats start up, watching the monorail -- seeing the CR......pure magic.

I never thought a view was that important until we were upgraded to TPV in Boca Chica for a 10 night stay last September. It was amazing hearing the welcome show every morning, and watching the fireworks every night. And my daughter loved watching all the modes of transportation on and around the lake.

They got me! I will fork out the extra cash next time for sure.
