I would recommend doing a character meal. Here are a few thoughts about a couple of my favorites. Please note that this is just my opinion.
1. Breakfast character meals are usually less expensive than lunch and dinner.
2. My favorite breakfast character meal is Tusker House at the Animal Kingdom. The food is wonderful, it is located in the Animal Kingdome and you usually get to see Donald, Daisy, Mickey, Minnie and Goofy.
3. My favorite dinner character meal is 1900 Park Fare. This is located in the Grand Floridian and usually the food is good. I love being able to see Cinderella, Prince Charming AND Lady Tremayne and the step sisters. I like it becuase you get Cinderella and Prince Charming without having to pay for the meal at Cinderella's Royal Table.
The best character interaction I have had was at the Garden Grill in the Land at Epcot, for dinner. Because the restaurant is small, the characters actually came to our table more than once. We got to see Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale. The downside is that the food was just average.
I hope some of this helps
