I finished reading Through the Looking-glass. It was a charming book.

Now i'm reading the Adventures of Pinocchio. So far, it's nothing like the book. Gepetto has a short temper. He carved Pinocchio from living wood (instead of wishing for a son). Pinocchio runs away from Gepetto, and when he catches him, Gepetto is sent to jail. Then Pinocchio comes home and finds a talking cricket. The talking cricket angers Pinocchio, so he throws a mallet at it and kills it. Then something about Pinocchio being hungry, cracks open an egg and a chicken flies out of it, Pinocchio gets water poured over him, and Pinocchio's feet get burnt off. Gepetto comes home, makes new feet for Pinocchio and Pinocchio promises to be good. Now i'm onto a chapter called "Pinocchio sells his primer to go and see a marionette's show".
