how can I find out when movies are scheduled to come out of the vault for re-release? I've been waiting for Lady and the Tramp for quite a while...is there somewhere I can go to see a timeline?

The one thing I know is that most of the titles that were released in the "Platinum Edition" series will also be a part of the new "Diamond Collection" -- in more or less the same order. Lady and the Tramp was one of the later releases in that line, so I'd expect it will be a while before you see it again. For example, 2011 is expected to see The Lion King and Bambi released.

Yeah there are some pretty comprehensive lists floating around, I've definitely used pixeemom's site in the past too. This reminds me to keep an eye out for Lion King next year, I thought I'd missed that. Or maybe it was the Platinum edition I missed. The vault thing is kind of annoying to be honest.

Agreed. And isn't the whole concept kinda lost in the 21st century? Out of print movies are bought/sold/rented/downloaded/swapped, so they aren't really in any kind of "vault". I think you can expect less physical media and more digital realm stuff for all movies, especially the older titles.

I have noticed that Netflix usually doesn't offer movies in The Vault for rent. The whole thing is an extension of the way Disney periodically released their animated films every 10 years or so, back in the days before home video.

I think because disney wants us to get excited when a movie that you've probably seen a bunch of times already
