The Vacation Store: Bad Review on the Today Show

The Vacation Store just got a horrible review from Peter Greenberg on the Today Show. They were doing a segment on travel problems people have encountered, this morning, and it was described that a woman had paid The Vacation Store for her reservation and had her vacation in Florida but the vacation destination charged her credit card again, months later, because The Vacation Store did not pay them.

No one could get a return call from The Vacation Store as the woman had filed complaints with the BBB and in Florida. But, when Greenberg called, the owner of The Vacation Store called him back stating that no one had contacted them about the situation and that he would check into it and get back to Greenberg. The owner then called the woman directly and offered her a free vacation and a full refund if she would not work with Peter Greenberg directly and prevent the situation from being described on the Today Show. Greenberg said that is unethical and it wouldn't stop him from reporting about The Vacation Store anyway and suggested the wronged traveler take The Vacation Store to small claims court to get her money back.

If I can find a link I will post it. I've never heard of The Vacation Store...has anyone ever used them?

Never heard of them but that sounds really lousy and low to basically ignore her and then try to buy her off in an attempt to avoid negative publicity.

Wasn't there a post about this company a few months back about a large group that had rented a house only to get to florida and discover that there expected house rental was non-existent?
