The unofficial waiting to make Be Our Guest ADRs thread-8/20 7am

watching and hoping by some miracle that it will open by the time we go in late oct :wizard:

Oct 1st is just way too far away :rolleyes1 I've got 2 nights that I can fit BOG in. Trying to patiently wait :dance3:

Snap - I also asked and told the CM about the Oct 1st rumour posted on here and she actually laughed and said you gotta love the internet. Good - Oct 1st was waaaaaaay too far away for me

I the business, they call the that CM's answer neither a confirmation nor a denial:hourglass

Subscribing! Going over Christmas break and actually hoping to snag a ressie for NYE!! I know, crazy, right?? :rotfl: Well, I'll be okay if we don't get it, but wouldn't it be sweet if we did?

I am curious to see how they are going to do QS lunch and sit down Dinner.

I'm just guessing -- but I'm assuming that they'll have the ordering area in a place at the restaurant where they will be able to easily hide it for dinner. The tables will probably stay in the same orientation for both -- but they could always "hide" the cash registers & ordering windows. I'm sure it will be some amazing Disney touch -- like doors that come across that are painted so you can't even tell its a "fake wall" hiding that area! I can't wait to see it with my own eyes in December!!!

Whatever they do, I'm sure it will be beautiful! Did you all see the YouTube videos of the Imagineers showing the ball room? It wasn't even 1/2 done & it was gorgeous already!!! :thumbsup2

Sooooooo, I was watching some of the footage from the Cars Land opening and it got me realizing that they'll probably do something similar for FLE. I'm not just talking about the red carpet and a special celebration.

I was reading around, and apparently there weren't any real soft openings. i.e. some media events with sneak peaks, but that was it. They said that Disney is less likely to soft open when it's a big section with lots of features vs. one attraction. i.e. based on this, it seems reasonable to think there won't be any soft openings for FLE either. If this is the case for FLE as well, soft openings at BoG may not happen.

Also, they had to shut down DCA for Cars Land media day yesterday. I can't see them shutting down MK, but then again- maybe they would? I mean, this is a pretty huge thing opening as well. That would really bite to be there, have MK planned, have dinner adrs that you were hoping to turn into BoG adrs, and then find out they're cxld for FLE media day and you have to scramble for adrs and possibly rework your trip b/c of it. I mean, total gloom scenario, but seriously- if they close MK for a FLE media event...talk about major monkey wrench.

From the DIsney FOod Blogs preview of Cars Land food, I guess Flo's wasn't ready and they couldn't take pics. One has to wonder if BoG will be the same way- i.e. the most hyped eatery and it won't be seen in full by the public until it's opened officially?

So, LTT reservation made as back up for 16th December 4pm!!

Watch out for all the LTT cancellations on October 1st if the rumours are true :rotfl2:

Claire :)

Cars Land opened early for cast members, D23 members, and California season passholders. My brother went early and was able to ride what he wanted with hardly any lines! I hear the rock work is amazing in the canyon at the radiator springs racers. Disney always allows a "testing" of an area before they open it completely to the public. Lucky cast members at Disney World!!!

Cool :thumbsup2 That sounds more promising than the info I'd found. :goodvibes

Just called and made my December reservations. I was told to call back in a couple of weeks for Be My Guest. Don't know if she really knew anything or just trying to be helpful? :confused3

I also think the difference is everything at CarsLand was opening at once. FLE is opening in drips and drabs (some of it is already open). So having a grand opening wouldn't really work in the same way.

Actually, I believe the annual passholders had to pay $50 each for a special pass to get to go in early on the day or days they were allocated an early entry. There were some threads on that on the DL board. The people that went seemed to think it was well worth the money.

We were there the week before it opened and talked to some cast members that had been in it that day. They were allowed to stay for 3 hours and they were not allowed to take any pictures. They thought the area was fantastic, and loved all 3 rides. There were no soft openings to the public like they often do when something opens (which they did when the Ariel ride opened and Star Tours reopened last year).

I can't imagine WDW ever closing MK for a full day for something like that. It would be like when the Griswold's went to Wallyworld!

I hope we get a specific date on BOG soon!

YEs, I have seen the video. The restaurant is so elegant looking that I am curious to see what they will serve for QS and how that part will look/fit in to the dining room/ballroom itself.

We are going December 27. I am hoping to get reservations for December 28.
I have read that they are looking for it to be ready by December. I have my fingers crossed!

I also doubt there will be many soft openings. That area is pretty much all behind the same big wall, so I imagine they will have a nice opening/dedication "in time for the holidays" --whenever that exact date comes to fruition.

While there will be crowds, it won't be like at DCA. You don't have millions of AP holders and locals descending into the parks in droves like they do at DLR.

One of the CM's I spoke to said that she thinks there will be a period of time that BOG will take walk-ins and then will take ADR's. I am hoping that the CM's that have said Holiday typically means Halloween are correct. WE will be there starting Thanksgiving day and really would love to take my DGD. She had a little flurry of anti-character anti-Disney but is right back into full fledged Disney Mania so Nana must take advantage of that!

I'm hoping it will be open when we are there to run the marathon in January. Our anniversary is the day after the marathon and we'd love to have dinner here for an anniversary treat.

The lack of news over BOG opening is driving me crazy and I don't travel until late next year, so I can't imagine how those of you going during the 'holidays' this year are coping!

I am so eager to see a menu, I wish they'd give us a tiny hint of how it's going to be.
