Monday 10th May - Blizzard Beach & Epcot

After an extremely rough night, what with not feeling good and the heat I awoke and made myself get sorted for another day (as you can see, I'm not one for giving up easily :rotfl:). Today we'd decided on Blizzard Beach in the morning til early afternoon before heading back to get changed and over to Epcot for our ADR at Le Cellier.

The others all fancied a McDonalds breakfast so it would see them right through until tea time, but I opted for just a quasant and a bottle of water. We drove down to BB and got ourselves changed for some water park fun!

I got braver than ever and tried the Slush Gusher along with Simon and my Dad, but that's as far as I went. There was no chance I was hitting Summit Plummet :scared1: That just scares me looking at it! Simon, on the other hand, after point-blank refusing to go on there, changed his mind and decided he'd try it. So I sent him up on the ski lifts on his own and I stayed down bottom with my Mum to keep an eye out for him coming back down.

After Simon's expedition, he decided it was time to hit the lazy river and let his heart-rate return to normal :rotfl2:

We floated around aimlessly for a while and just relaxed before deciding to hit some more slides and have a splash about in the main pool.

We wrapped it up after another great morning and headed back over to ASSp to get showered and changed and relax before heading over to Epcot. My Mum called in our room to ask what I'd be wearing for our meal and mentioned she'd be putting on her dress, so wondered if I was wearing mine ;) I said yes if she'd like me too and off she went to get herself sorted.

We got the bus over to Epcot and I was really excited, as we'd get to see the Flower & Garden Festival whilst we were in there. I'd experienced this on our previous trip in 2008, but I was excited to show my Mum, as she's a keen gardener back home, so I knew she'd love what they did in there.

We had some time to hit some rides before our meal so we walked straight onto Spaceship Earth, before heading around to Mission:Space and the finally riding Test Track, twice.

After Test Track, we made our way from Future World and up into the World Showcase for our 7.30pm ADR. We gave our name in and was told to wait to be seated. It didn't take too long before we were taken through and our server was the wonderful Brian! He was fantastic, looked after us all so well and was always enthusiastic about the dishes we picked.

Now, for all you guys who are waiting for the engagement....Simon WAS planning on asking me whilst we were at Le Cellier (as this was a favourite of ours from our previous trip together), BUT, we were seated right next door to the TOILETS! :scared1: :lmao: So, he decided it wasn't exactly romantic and saved his moment for later...

We ate, well, the others ate plenty, I didn't managed too much as I still wasn't feeling 100%, but I attempted each dish and enjoyed what I did manage. I do have a love for this restaurant, and the whole Canada pavilion, I think it's a lovely setting and there's plenty places for photo's too.

We finished up around 9pm and were hoping to catch Illuminations, but were just out of luck, as they were finishing as we came out of the restaurant. The park was at closing time really, so we joined the crowd and headed towards the exit.

As we reached the Mickey & Minnie topiary Simon suggested a photo in front of them  Now, Simon's not one for photo's, I normally have to drag him on them, so I found this a little odd, but went along with what he wanted. He placed me in front of the display and I went to reach back for him so I could hold him for the picture. He wasn't where I expected him to be....

I was later told I literally jumped around 3 feet backwards with shock  I cannot describe the emotions at this point, it was a one of a kind moment. Stunned, shocked, speechless to say the least!

I slowly crept back towards him and he finally asked me his question. "Would I marry him?" Now, at this point I'm shaking and crying :rotfl: So I sorta needed some help from the now gathering crowd who'd witnessed what was happening. I swear there was people whooping and whistling the whole time, it was really surreal. The next thing I hear is an American accent shouting 'Say yes!' So, dawning on me with what I should be saying at this point, I replied to Simon's question and said 'YES!' :cloud9:

We had a little moment together, I actually think it was really for Simon to hold me up, before he presented me with the most beautiful engagement ring.

Still, there were people watching, along with my family (who all knew!!) and I had people come over to congratulate us and say how wonderful the moment had been and that they were pleased to have seen it happen. It was all really crazy! :rotfl2:

It was completely dark at this point and we slowly began wandering towards the exit, or shall I say, I staggered towards the exit with one major adrenaline rush! We still had people congratulating us along the way out, which I was amazed by! Everyone was so nice! :lovestruc

I hadn't yet examined my new gift, so I found the nearest light and took a peek...

It was just so beautiful and shiny and new  Amazed by it all, we headed out. My Mum and Dad both looked so proud, it was amazing. We got our bus back to the resort and Simon wandered off to the shop whilst I sat in reception admiring my new gift ;) Shortly afterwards, Simon came back with a bottle of bubbly from the shop and my Dad hurried over with our 'Just Engaged' badges from the CM's.

We headed back to our rooms, were there was yet another surprise waiting! My Mum, Dad and Brother, who as I mentioned, all knew it was happening, had been sneaky and got us our very first engagement gifts!

We were presented with the box and we both opened up the gifts inside.

They'd had both of the ornaments personalised at the DTD Christmas store and had them shipped back to the resort on the first evening we'd arrived! They were really lovely gifts and totally topped off an amazing evening.

Needless to say, Epcot is now my favourite park, it holds amazing memories for me, ones I'll never forget. We drank up our bubbly and then said good night to my parents and brother. An amazing evening, one I most certainly wasn't expecting on the trip, which added to the magic and madness!

Phew...tomorrow, day 6!

Oh Rachel, you got me all tearful! What a wonderful story. Your photos are amazing, the moment was captured so well. May I just say, Simon is a very brave man to propose where he did! I bet it was so special for everyone who watched it happen. You just know they went home and told people what they saw!!
