Saturday 8th May - O'hana Breakfast & Magic Kingdom

My morning had finally arrived! I was going back to my happy place and no-one could contain me. We began the day with another first, I'd booked us a character breakfast at O'hana. I partly did this as Stitch was there and as he's one of my very favourite characters (who I'd never met ) I decided it was necessary that I made certain that I met him this trip.

So, another early start. Up at 07.00am and headed off in the car to the transportation and ticket centre and from there we hopped on the monorail over to the Polynesian. We checked in and had our group photo taken.

We were seated shortly afterwards and had a lovely big table with plenty room for everything that was served. I loved how we were all referred to as 'cousins', I found that very sweet! :lovestruc We enjoyed the breakfast and I tried my very first Mickey waffle - and how yummy are those!? It was the first of many more Mickey waffles during my trip!

We eventually got to meet our pals too, which seemed to take ages to happen!

I did get some Stitch ones, but they'd turned our terrible, as I'd managed to get myself all teary when meeting him :rotfl: It was one of those moments that I'd been waiting for since falling in love with Stitch!

After breakfast and a little look around the Poly, we headed over to the MK to collect our Disney tickets and enter the Magic Kingdom! We got in line at guest services and I really expected the worst, the queue was LONG :scared1: We eventually got our passes and headed over to the entrance, I was seriously excited!

We got inside and I just love the anticipation of actually seeing the castle when you round the first corner, I don't think there's any other feeling. Just the waiting and walking a little quicker than normal - until we found this guy and decided we needed a picture (as we'd never met him before!)...

After our photo's with Pinocchio it was time to see my beloved Cinderella Castle  As we rounded the corner I saw my favourite view in the World...

Ahhh, we were home! :cloud9: We took a few more photo's around the castle and grabbed ourselves a photopass card to set us up for the holiday. We headed straight across to Frontierland and around to Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Railroad. After getting myself totally soaked on Splash and riding BTMR three times in a row, we followed the pathway back through to Adventureland and hit POTC.

As I mentioned earlier, I did think it was going to be extremely busy, but we found the longest we waited was around 10 minutes at the most. We carried on around the MK and managed to do the Haunted Mansion and a few others before Simon insisting it was time that he got to ride Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin! He loves this ride and couldn't wait to get back on there and zap The Evil Emperor Zurg! He did well too, he hit above 250K on his first go :yay:

It was a short time later when my Mum announced she didn’t feel too good, so we decided we’d head back over to the resort to chill out and maybe come back later if Mum was feeling better. On my way out I called in at the Uptown Jewelers and bought myself a green Mickey charm for my Pandora bracelet

We got back to Sports and got ourselves changed for some poolside fun and games - oh and one or two Poolside Lemonades from the pool bar too ;)

Mum went and got herself some sleep to see if it'd make her feel better for later in the evening and we grabbed some tea from the food court before getting showered and changed to head back over to the MK. My Mum, at this point, said she was feeling much better after her sleep, so she decided she'd join us too.

We got the Disney bus back over to the MK and browsed through the shops on our way up to hit Buzz again (for Simon!). We spent some time in Tomorrowland and rode one of my favourites, the very peaceful and lazy TTA :cloud9: We headed back towards the hub to stake out a spot for Spectro Magic (we caught the late parade, as it wasn't as busy), another of my favourites. I was so excited to be able to see this parade again, though I always usually cry :lmao:

It was just before midnight once the parade had passed us by completely, so we slowly strolled back down Main St and headed out for our bus back to ASSp. Again, no queues at the bus stops either and there wasn't really a long wait before our bus arrived. We got back to the resort, grabbed a cup of tea each and crashed out after another fun-filled day!

Coming soon (hopefully tomorrow!)...day 4!

Great day Rachel. Glad your Mum wasn't ill for too long.

Love the update :D Iam very excited for this unexpected Engagement though

:goodvibes Thanks guys...engagement coming up real soon!

I do worry that no-one will read once that part's over :lmao:

A great day - and report.
A couple of points :goodvibes
1. After your experience waiting for your tickets would you recommend picking them up at DTD the day before? We normally do but I just wondered what other peoples ideas are.
2. We have never done an O'Hanas breakfast (close last time but chose CP instead) I am more determined after your report to do it next time.
3. Your parade photos are amazing. I try year after year and never manage to get a decent one so well done :worship:
4. HOW TALL IS YOUR BOYFRIEND

Great update Rachel - don't worry, I will carry on reading once the engagement's over :) Breakfast at 'Ohana sounds (and looks) great. Gott a love those poolside lemonades too :thumbsup2

:lmao: @ No. 4...he's very tall - or should that be I'm very small! :rotfl2:

TBH, after the experience of waiting in that queue at MK, I more than likely would have preferred to have picked up our tickets at DTD the day before. It would have been much easier and we could have gotten in there quicker  Maybe it's me, maybe I was that excited to get into the MK that the queue felt 10 times longer!

Thank-you also for the other lovely comments. My brother is the proud owner of those parade photos. I've passed on your comments and he says thank-you :thumbsup2

Hmmm yes, poolside lemonade's are my favourites. I've tried to re-create them back home but it's just not the same ;)

Another great day - your excitement at being at MK really comes over!!

:cutie: What a lovely thing to say. It's nice to know that people can feel that, as I adore the MK.

i love TR's i read them over and over again i promise to comment on every day so you feel loved lol :lovestruc

 Thank-you, I shall feel loved everyday from now on

What a lovely report. I can't wait to read the rest!

I have to ask, what camera did you use for those parade photos (Spectro)? I have a fairly good camera but my pics were nowhere near as good as yours! (Maybe I shouldn't have it set on Auto :lmao:).

Those Ohana shots are also amazing!

It would be the Nikon D60. My brother doesn't recall the settings he used though, seems he's got a good eye for photographs.

There's some he's taken with a D90 later in the trip and those are quite good also.

Thank-you for the lovely comments also :goodvibes

O'hana's looked lovely. MK did look wicked busy from your first castle pic!

what a lovely day and great pictures :goodvibes

Nothing beats that first sight of the castle feeling does it. Always makes me teary too. What a wonderful day and some lovely photos of you all.

What a fab day....I will be reading your tr to the end. :thumbsup2

I'm glad your mum felt better after a sleep, I hope she remains well for the rest of the trip. :)

Great pics. You're right - nothing beats the feeling of seeing the castle for the first time each trip. :cloud9:
