Wednesday 19th May - Aquatica, Walmart & Magic Kingdom

We got up this morning to find my poor Mum's leg not in good shape at all :sad1: The insect bites were very bad and had blistered. They were making my Mum feel poorly, so after a quick light breakfast in the food court, we packed up our bags for Aquatica. I drove us there and my Dad said that me, Simon & Chris should go off and enjoy the waves while he took my Mum off to Walgreen's chemist to try and see the drop-in doctor. He said they'd come back once they'd sorted it.

So we were off, armed with the water camera, as a team of three for a while. We'd never been to Aquatica before so we were really looking forward to trying out some new slides and flumes.

We entered using our Discovery Cove passes and decided we'd better find a map!

Now, it's not totally obvious as to where to actually get changed in this park, so we spent a good 20 minutes debating on what actually were the chaning rooms, before giving up and getting changed in our respective toilet blocks! :lmao: We hopped back around to nearly the main entrance and rented up a couple of lockers.

We headed into Loggerhead Lane and had a sail around there in the doughnuts. It was lovely to float by and watch the massive fish in the tanks there. We did quite a few laps around this area just to see the fish each time.

We dragged ourselves and our doughnuts out with us and headed up to the queue for Tassie's Twisters. We'd never done a slide with the 'bowl' ending so we were super excited! We then headed over to the Dolphin Plunge and there wasn't too much of a queue. I have to say, I was disappointed with this flume. It was harsh on our backs, each of us complained that the slide wasn't smooth and there wasn't any chance of seeing a dolphin at the speed you do through the slide :sad2:

We headed over to Whanau Way and did some more slides over there, including the Omaka Rocka. It's certainly a different type of water slide. Very bumpy as you'd imagine and you pretty much always end up backwards :rotfl:

Shortly afterwards, we sat around the edge of Cutback Cove and waited for my Mum and Dad to appear. Eventually we found my Dad and he told us that my Mum would be joining us, even though they'd bandaged her leg up :lmao: She was pretty certain she wasn't missing out!

We'd been on Roa's Rapids earlier in the day, so we decided to take my Mum back over there as we knew she'd enjoy it.

From there we wandered over to the Taumata Racers. Mum said she didn't fancy it, so she was our photographer at the bottom :thumbsup2

We decided on the family raft ride next, Walhalla Wave, so that my Mum could join in too. What a great raft ride! :woohoo: One of the best we'd been on, really fast and high up the sides. Afterwards we decided we'd had enough fun splashing around and we needed to keep an eye on my Mum's leg, so we headed off to get showered and changed.

We'd passed the Walmart quite a few times in our trip and thought we'd go and check it out, as it's somewhere we've never needed to visit. How amazing is that store? :rotfl: We were all astounded at what was actually for sale in there! There's not much you can't buy there - and the price of things, wow! We found the McDonald's in there first and grabbed some food. I'd recommend the Strawberry & Banana smoothie from the McCafe too!

Off we went around Walmart - for 2 hours :rotfl2: We couldn't believe it when we got back to the car and noticed the time! We've decided that next trip we'll stop by there sooner, as we can pick up quite a few items there to get us started on our holidays!

Shortly afterwards we arrived back at ASSp and kicked back and chilled out for a while. My brother did some sorting of our photographs and I caught up on what was happening in the basketball along with an episode of Family Guy!

We'd decided that tonight would be the evening that we'd catch Wishes - in full! :lmao: I was getting annoyed with only catching glimpses! Simon decided he was staying back at the resort as he was tired, but the rest of us donned our lanyards and scooted off to the MK as it was going into the twilight.

We arrived on Main St and it was still quiet, so we decided we'd wander through the shops and I finally managed to pick up the Wishes and Spectromagic CD's that I'd been searching for! :thumbsup2 I'd promised Simon that I'd take him a treat back from the Main St bakery, so we called in there and I grabbed two cupcakes and a drink to keep me going.

We took our places on Main St now, as it was going dusk. And grabbed a couple of photo's along the way...

Now, I adore Wishes and I was hoping that my Mum, Dad & Brother would agree that it was great too. I was hoping they'd feel the emotion of it all, as I can't help but tear-up when watching! We sat curbside and chatted to each other and others around us whilst we waited. My Mum got chatting to a lady and her young son and this little chat turned into some real Disney magic shortly afterwards :goodvibes

Eventually Main St started to get busy, so we took our places on the street. The lady and her son stood alongside us too. Wishes began and it wasn't long before I had tears flowing - as usual! The lady was trying to hold her son on his push-chair, but also try and film at the same time, as it was a trip for them both for her son's birthday. My Mum offered to watch him on his chair whilst the lady filmed Wishes and the lady was ever so grateful for it...shortly after my Mum began to hold him steady on his chair, this happened...

He leaned in and cuddled with my Mum :lovestruc Ever so sweet and my Mum said he was 'ooo-ing' and 'ahh-ing' away and chatting to her about the fireworks. His Mum happily filmed the whole thing and by mid-way through Wishes, both his Mum and my Mum were in floods of tears :cutie: It was a great moment for my Mum, one I don't think she'll ever forget. The lady was ever so thankful too, I hope, and think, that it made her night too - because it made my Mum's! :cloud9: It's amazing what Disney can do to people at times!

Sadly, Wishes came to an end and it was time for me to take my treat back to Simon :) We said good-bye to the lady and her son and made our way back through the shops and stopped off for some Disney dollars on our way to the exit.

We'd just got out of the turn-style exit when I couldn't believe what I saw! The Electrical Water Pageant was just that second sailing by :lovestruc I'd read about this in my guidebooks and on the Dis and was hoping I'd be able to catch it at some point, so I stood at the railings and watched it float past me, I was made up I'd seen it!

They're not the best photo's, but either way I had to share, purely as I'd finally seen another part of WDW magic :goodvibes

We arrived back at ASSp shortly afterwards as our bus was waiting when we arrived at the stop. I headed off to my room to find Simon and present him with his treat...I grabbed a cup of tea from the drinks dispenser and went back to tuck into this before bed...

They were very yummy and Simon enjoyed his little treat :thumbsup2

Seriously, it was an eye opener! :rotfl: We'd never seen things as cheap! A whole gallon of Sunny D for about $2!! We pay that over here for less than half of the juice!!

We were all wondering around going 'Wow, look at that!', it was sheer amazement, I bet the American's thought we were crazy! :lmao:
