Monday 17th May - Islands of Adventure, Premium Outlets and Magic Kingdom

We got up this morning and I was commanded again that I'd be leaving my engagement ring at home, as it was the day for Islands of Adventure! :rotfl: We woke to grey skies and showers, but none the less, we jumped into the car and drove to Ponderosa Steakhouse on International Drive for some breakfast.

By the time we reached IoA, it had seemed to brighten up a little, but not enough to reassure me that is wasn't going to give us a bit of a storm.

The positive thing was, thanks to the weather I'd imagine, was that it wasn't busy. We headed straight for The Hulk and rode with a 5 minute wait time. We continued around and did Spiderman...

...Before heading off towards the area where Harry Potter Land was being created. It was great to see, even though we couldn't see much. They really have done a wonderful job creating the area and the Hogwarts Castle looks simply stunning perched upon the hill.

It was nice to have a look around the area, but we were sad to see that Dueling Dragons was closed, so we were unable to ride. On our way back around into Jurassic Park, the heavens opened! I knew those clouds wouldn't hold out all day ;) We tried to shelter, but there wasn't much about in the area we were in, so we gave up and decided we'd just hit the water rides whilst we were already half soaked :woohoo:

We came to Jurassic Park firstly and my family had never rode this before, they couldn't get over the size of the building which contains the drop. My Mum was a little hesitant but we persuaded her.

We got to the point were we were about to head over the drop as my Dad took this photo...

And then got shouted at :rotfl: Ride control informed him to 'Put away the camera!' I can see why, it's one hell of a drop down there! He did and we were off over the edge. I did manage on this one not to do too badly and only had wet shorts :thumbsup2

We hopped off into the rain again and went around to Dudley Doo Right's Ripsaw Falls and it was a walk on with the rain. We lonely boarded our log and off we went. A great ride - completely soaked! :rotfl2:

We then topped it off with a trip down Popeye and Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges! None of us had ridden this before, so it was all new. Absolutely great set of rapids. Best by far. We did have to ride twice in a row though, as on our first trip down them I was nearly deafened by a girl who insisted on shrieking like a banshee and exclaiming that she didn't want to get wet. Errr, I hate to tell you, but you're on a water ride - usually involves a little bit of a soaking!

We fooled around in Toon Town for a while and I bought myself a Betty Boop towel to try and dry off before heading back to the lockers to get our change of clothes and commence drying off in the toilets :lmao:

We headed out of IoA at that point as we'd done pretty much everything we wanted too and decided we'd go and check out the Premium Outlets again. We all ended up with a treat or two :goodvibes I bought myself a Nike t-shirt and some Puma Cell trainers. Another downpour happened whilst we were in the mall, so we hung out there until it passed.

I drove us back across to the resort and we stopped off at McDonalds for our tea, bad I know ;) I just had to try one of these though...

I've never had a McDonald's milk shake like it, ours in the UK are boring now!

We headed back to ASSp for a while and chilled around the resort and then noticed it was extra magic hours at the Magic Kingdom - so off we went, it was open until 2am.

I was determined this trip also to meet my other favourite - Tinker Bell. I asked the others if it was okay for me to try and do that this evening, so we headed up to Pixie Hollow and got in line. Simon decided Tink wasn't for him after waiting around 20 minutes and told us he'd meet us outside later. The rest of us stayed there, barely moving an inch :headache: It was the longest we'd had to queue all holiday, but I was pretty determined I was staying there :lmao: And boy wasn't it worth every minute! :goodvibes

I adored Tinker Bell, she was just brilliant. I was honestly amazed at how good she was in character. She loved my lanyard and told me I must be a Tinker too, as I like to collect shiny things :lovestruc I was in love even more than before!

We left Pixie Hollow and bought a couple of items from the gift store for gifts before heading back down into Tomorrowland to ride Buzz again.

We wandered across and into Frontierland and rode Big Thunder a couple of times too. We caught the beginning of the Spectro Magic parade before deciding that we were all far too tired to carry on. We made our way out and through the crowd to the bus stop, arriving back at the resort around 12.30am - we were shattered and it was off to bed! :thumbsup2

Coming up next - Epcot & Wilderness Lodge

Another fab day Rachel. :thumbsup2

Love your pics, especially the one where you're all soaked (:rotfl:) and the ones at Pixie Hollow.

Great day! Weve got a pic of us all outside Ripsaw Falls up in the lounge where we are all soaked through, great pic....although im not too sure about your fellas choice of football team on his shorts!!! :dance3:

Some great pics again - especially the ones of you all soaked and of DF looking less than excited about the Jurassic Park drop. I have often heard the ride operators telling people off as they make that final climb for having cameras out :lmao:

Those shorts....pfff, took me ages to find a pair. I make him wear them :lmao: Though he does obviously support Utd. Blackpool for yourself?

I couldn't believe it, I was like  It echoed around the tower it was that loud :lmao:

Oh I adored it, brilliant meet and greet, even for a 26 year old :rotfl: As corny as it sounds, it really was a dream come true :goodvibes
