Day 5 - "I Brought Your Hunting Clothes Along, Sir - It's WEDNESDAY, You Know!"
....well, as long as we have enough time to take Jesse and Alexis to the airport, that is. So, that is why we chose today as a non-park day. Mystic Dunes is a pretty fab place, complete with many outstanding amenities. For one, I loved walking to the main pool area where a continental breakfast is served daily. The menu includes fresh-brewed coffee, assorted teas, milk, fresh fruit, various chilled juices, yogurt, boxed cereals, danishes, muffins, bagels, butter, jams and jellies, and bottled water. Someone in our group (usually Jean or I) headed over to the pool, complete with our badge (you must show id in order to participate in the free breakfast deal, because there are weekend [and weekday] potential members that stay there as well that do not qualify for the complimentary breakfast)...
[the buffet breakfast is always set up along that far side of the pool, in front of those cabanas]
....anyhoo, since our friends are members, they are also privy to a great pool deal. I forgot how much the cost was, but they get all-day access to any one of the private cabanas, which also includes a pizza lunch, fruit, chips, and beverages. This was key because Maureen is of fair skin and she easily burns - especially in the hot Florida sun. Plus, there is an extra added bonus of a tv in the cabana - Ron was able to watch his beloved Weather Channel to his heart's content....

Don't even bother asking: yes, he DID wear, once again, his stupid carpenter jeans...
....the pool was refreshing, spacious, and also included a great water slide. The only drawback to that was that the slide was IN COMPLETE DARKNESS, so you couldn't see where you were going. That's why I only used it once....
....as you might well imagine, it can't be very exciting to sit within such close proximity to a crystal clear pool, not donning a bathing suit, so Ron decided to take the rental and go 'exploring' [he was gone for almost 3 hours!] - more on that later. I, on the other hand, firmly believe that 'vegging out' by a tranquil pool is just what the doctor ordered as the perfect prescription to a perfect vacation. So, that's what
I did...
[Maureen sought out the comfort of the inviting shade during the hottest hours of the day]
