Wed 18th Feb Day 5
We woke up quite sad today as we were going home but happy at the same time as we had had such a great trip full of many wonderful surprises.
We started the day in our usual way with a wake up call from Goofy, quickly getting showered and dressed and heading to the park for EMH. It was a bit damp and drizzly this morning but still not really raining. We did our usual rides: Peter Pan, Teacups, Carrousel, Snow White and Buzz but gave Dumbo a miss as we thought the elephants might be a bit wet.
We then returned to the park for our usual breakfast. I must admit I loved being close enough to be able to do this and the breakfasts at DLH were really yummy and meant most days we didnt really need any lunch.
After breakfast I went back to the room to finish the last bits of packing while DH took Charys on a character hunt round the hotel finding Tigger, Baloo, Eeyore, The Penguin from Mary Poppins and Mickey.
We loaded the cases and bags into the car and headed back into the park again for another few hours of fun.
We had decided to have a wander round the park as well as doing our favourites again: Small World, POC and BTM. We were disappointed at first as BTM was closed with technical problems and thought we would miss out on our last ride.
We checked out the Railroad but both Frontierland and Fantasyland stations were closed and also Pays de Contes de Fees and Casey was closed as well.
Fortunately we found POC open but busy and Small World as well. We went back to Frontierland to check on BTM and hurray it was open. We used the hotel FP to get on which meant it was our last ride of the trip.
Satisfied we had done all the rides we wanted we went to Market House Deli to grab a Croque Monsieur (Mickey Pizza for Charys) for lunch then exited the park in our usual fashion through the middle arch turning to wave to the park and shout Goodbye as loud as we dare.
We walked through the DLH for the last time, took a few last minute photos, collected the car and set off about 2.00 to drive to Calais to go home. As we made good time in getting there and having space in the car we decided to call into the Euro Cite shopping centre to stock up on wine.
When we got to the terminal we had a look round the shops and grabbed something to eat before boarding. Before we knew it we were back in England and heading home up the motorway arriving home about 11pm.
Wed had a fantastic trip it was amazing springing surprise after surprise on Charys and seeing her reaction.
The weather had been better than we expected, certainly not as cold as it had been and we had had some fantastic food and experienced the luxury of staying at DLH as well as having fun on the rides and with the characters. Charys had got into pin trading and of course we didnt escape coming home with a new cuddly toy.
And of course it wont be long before I can do my pre TR for our next trip.
