We never learn. Up at 6:00 and time to get ready for our Epcot adventure. We now have getting up and ready down to a science. DD jumps in the shower first, DW gets our clothes ready, Dad picks up ice for the water bottles and then the switch off for the shower begins. Now, how come DD can get ready in 5 mins here and at home it takes an hour? Don't ask me, I'm just dad.
A quick breakfast then off to the bus stop and Epcot. A quick word here about the busses. During the entire trip we never waited more than 10 mins for a bus. Disney has got the system down.
The Epcot express pulls in and off to adventure we go. Its already 90 degrees but we're not fooled...we've got ponchos. The gates open and we grab fast passes to Test Track and then go back to Spaceship Earth, Innoventions, and general meandering. The grounds are just beautiful and we head back to Test Track. Fast Pass is a great invention and should be put up there next to the wheel. We zip through the line and Dad gets the driver's seat in the car. Test Track is great! I just wish we could drive that way for real. After we get off we meander (hey, we're on vacation and meander is perfectly acceptable) around, catch Cranium Command and Body Wars. A quick snack and off to the other side of Epcot and the international villages. We have PS at Teppanyaki and get there too early...no matter, DD is taking French in school so we head over to France so she can practice. Hey, wait a minute...these people speak REAL FRENCH and not stuff I learned in school. We check out a show and then back to lunch.
Teppanyaki is fantastic. We all had the steak and shrimp combo and were stuffed. The chef was very entertaining and I even ate the veggies (DW and DD's jaws dropped). Hey, its good food. After lunch out to Germany and even though they speak "real German" I converse a little and am pretty proud of myself when I'm understood. It brought back memories of my childhood when lived in Frankfurt. Then it happened...the best part of the trip. GUMMI BEARS ALL THE WAY FROM GERMANY!!!!!!!!! I'm not talking about those "things" that you can get at the local supermarket...I'm talking REAL GUMMI BEARS. Life is good and Disney magic has done it again. I flew 4000 miles to get real Gummi Bears and it was worth it. Huh....there are other lands to visit? No way...I'm in Gummi heaven.
After prying me away from the Gummi bears we visit the other lands (no gummi bears there) and then realize...its not raining and the skies are clear. We head back to the other side of Epcot and visit The Land and Honey, I Shrunk the Audience. After those shows the Florida Weather doesn't let me down and it clouds up. Back to the other side to visit Canada and England and its almost time for Illuminations. Fish and Chips from England satisfy the hungries and we pick a spot to watch the show. Just as we "plop" down it rains...HA...BEAT YA...Its Pancho Time!. The show isn't cancelled and we're awestruck. I've never seen such a great light and firework show...and in the rain.
The show is over and like lemmings we head back to the bus and home.
Next...MGM and Rockin' Roller Coaster
