HA! I just had a quirky little thought: We should all post photos of what we looked like in high school. Then, we should identify which character we would have played in The Breakfast Club: "a brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess [or] a criminal."

Now that could be good for a few laughs!!

I guess I would have been Anthony Michael Hall...the Brain... funny you should post this. I found some old photos of my church youth group circa 1986-87. I have some serious Butt-Cut action going on. I sent it to my friend and we had a good laugh last night... his brother's mullet was the highlight... I'll upload the pic later.

Another thing I've noticed: tothesea -- our resident source of happy thoughts -- has remained suspiciously quiet amidst all this "cooler talk." (I do know she has been busy, though.)

Hey DIS! I'm here! After that marathon we ran on here the other day and night, I've been catching up on stuff. I've been checking in though. I saw all that happened with the 7 finalists and honestly, that was very hard to hear. The letter David posted was one thing--but THEN the fact that he (and now we know others too) received it so late is just heart breaking! Looking back, when we were waiting for the false midnight announcement, David was there with us, and I had NO idea he was there, waiting for news too--that he did NOT know! I just feel awful about that! I really really thought everyone had been contacted at that point. But for them to have to wait just like us, all those weeks, hearing nothing, and finally find out the way they did, well, I just still can't believe it and I am so so sorry! You all deserve so much more!!!

I really am excited for Justin, Tripp, and David H.! Just going next week will be an awesome adventure and I can't wait to see the footage and hear all about it!

I still think everyone who even entered should be very proud of themselves. Amidst the heartache, a lot of good has come out of this and I just think the world of you all!

Just big hugs to you Meggin! I'm very disappointed that you didn't advance. You really proved yourself to me with all your fun and unique ways of spreading that pixie dust. The shame is...while you really were OUT there in PERSON trying to be true to the integrity of the contest (by spreading pixie dust randomly, toll booths, grocery store workers, etc...) others may have just been fortunate enough to have opera browser and stay cooped up in their house voting incessantly. That's why it's a shame, unfair, and
so disheartening. I'm just not sure how I feel about the whole thing....
I know you had fun and I'm certainly grateful that you did, but I think the sponsors REALLY missed to boat big time, over and over again, and from the very beginning.

Hey Mrs. F, I just read that post that Tink quoted and I have a question. What is opera browser?

If I'm wrong the pirate will shoot me...but back when we were discussing a "rapid voting technique" for the top 10, someone mentioned that if your operating system was opera browser that you could do a series of shortcut keystrokes and vote many many times a minute. Wasn't able to do that however with my system. Lucky if I could get 3 in a minute. The pirate has magical fingers though getting 30ish as I recall.

That was when I questioned the integrity of that method and the pirate thought I was saying he was cheating. Remember that? Maybe you were at Disney?
Anyway....the Pirate was NOT cheating, however finding shortcuts or loopholes in the voting process may or may not have benefitted some? N'er ye mind tho, you're in baby!

(disclaimer: I am not a computer savy person so everything I may have just said was somewhat skewed....maybe like the voting process itself?)
