"Hmmmmmmmmmmm," says the five foot nothing girl......
Also, I don't really know what having a "winner" means in the competitions:
Grand Prize Voting Period: Individuals who go to http://www.dreamcmo.com between 12:00 a.m. ET on April 14, 2008 and 11:59:59 PM ET on April 21, 2008, ("Grand Prize Voting Period") will be asked to view the three (3) Grand Prize Video Applications and vote for their favorite. The Finalist Prize Winner who receives the highest number of votes during the Grand Prize Voting Period will be deemed the Grand Prize Winner.
So what do you think???
I dunno, Ann!
I'm wanting to believe KigerKat's theory:
Maybe to help the voters decide who they are voting on? Marshay (I think?) and I have pledged 20 extra votes to whoever wins each competition. So, even though I support Tripp, Justin will get 20 votes from me for winning the stroller derby.
Also, Justin addressed the whole competitions/voting situation in his mass e-mail posted earlier (and partially cut-and-pasted below):
"Please keep voting! They assured as again tonight that while the contests will be fun and will provide a lot of great video footage for them to use, they actually have no bearing on the end result of all of this. It is entirely in YOUR hands. The votes will determine the winner and I would love to represent you all in this position!"
I guess I don't really have a problem with the current set-up as long as the selection process (and voting system) is clear up front. At the very least, it keeps things interesting for the people lurking at home!

I just found it a bit odd that the Pre-Show video would emphasize each contestant's stature. ...Especially since -- in a true interview -- such practices could be interpreted as discriminatory.

Didn't mean to stir the pot...
